As always, I think you articulate your thoughts well, Mev. Delonte and Gomes play like veterans (especially Gomes) and they look like they have roles already in place if they are long term fixtures here.
If Ray is being groomed to handle some duties at the Point, it'll be in the mold of Danny Ainge. I don't think anyone expects him to be a true PG.
Eja, Gerald hasn't been playing well lately. He's confused about when to shoot and when to look for something else. This summer, he really needs to work on his ball handling, his footwork, and his penetrating into the paint. These are keys for him to improve big time next year. His shooting will come, but without having ball handling, footwork and penetrations, Gerald won't be much of a player.

If TA and especially Wally (not that I expect him to be healthy for most of the season by any means) beat out GG AGAIN next year then I'd have to say it would make a lot of sense to sort of view GG as another Martell Webster/Deshawn Stevens/Bassy and trade him for what we can get (hopefully teams are still fooled), but it's starting to sometimes look like he's only 50/50. At one point I'd say it looked 80/20 but he just doesn't seem to really be progressing all that much and it's not like he's getting no play time or that he's not athletic enough. I think how hard he works this summer and how bad he wants it will detemine a lot for him next year. If he's still defering and guessing and looks like he's not sure what to do I'd have to question possibly his heart and his basketball IQ and say go with TA.
There is NO excuse for him to be beat out by a guy with two major knee injuries and another guy with major knee injuries (quick... which is which?) next year. Seriously. He has health and 4 inches of height and about a hundred inches of arm and verticle lift on TA and he has youth, speed, and health over Wally, so if he got beat out again by either of these guys what would be the excuse? Youth? There is none. One of these guys has to get kicked out of the nucleus next year and I'd prefer it to be Wally but it could be any of these guys for any reason and it could DEFINITELY be GG so nobody get married to GG yet.

i agree - next season we'll see how gg's future is going to be like. i wouldn't trade him by any means this offseason.

Worth mentioning the article in yesterday's paper about Perk not worrying a bout stats. That sounds like some good coaching going on, and it focused on Doc.

It also sounds like someone with a long term contract
