I would like to see how we do with a more traditional post up PF. AJ is one of these but he may or may not be ready. Antione plays too much on the perimeter for my taste. Its hard to rebound well from the three point line. We have not seen a true PF for some time.
But I agree with Os, why overpay and cap up out. Its a game of poker and Ainge is calling him to find a team that will pay him. Walker is bluffing so it seems and has not been able.

Even if Walker was making 3 mil a year, I still wouldn't want him back.

Walker makes this team MUCH more interesting to watch. I have always loved the celtics, but the time he was gone was quite boring for me. I am not ready for him to move on unless someone other than Paul can step it up. AJ looks to be a good player, but clearly he seems lost out there at times. People may not like Employee #8, but he is decisive, is very quick, loves the Celtics, works his butt off, and takes all the heat for losing. We sucked without him on our team, we became better when he joined. The young players are just not ready, and like it or not, AW is a great leader and role model- even if you hate his game.

Jambr, 1 more - point there.
I totally disagree with all of that.

Haha, I did say "Interesting" not necessarily better (in everyone's eyes- even though I think he makes the team much better)...clearly everyone has their own opinions about the guy, and I can understand, which proves my point even more. I like drama and excitement

I disagreed with 95% of it. It was interesting to watch him shoot 3s all day long and wonder if any would go in. It wsa interesting to watch him get steals and have no other defense. It was depressing to see K Mart make him look like an elephant.

I do agree with Jambr that we will be a worse team next year w/o antione. Not a lot worse, but worse nonetheless. Am saying ID like to see Antoine back? Fudge no. Even if it will cost us a couple of wins this year, saying buh-bye to Toine is the best thing for the team over the long run.

The only way we'll be worse without Walker is if everyone hides in their shells and play scared. Walker brought a fiery attitude to the team--and that is what I give him the most props for. But we've now got some guys who have fire and aren't shy to show it--and as they start to gain more acceptance from their teammates, their confidence as leaders will grow more (specifically talking about Jefferson, Perkins, and Delonte).
Walker's interior scoring can be replaced. His ball handling can be replaced. His defense can easily be replaced. But the one thing that may not be replaced so easily is his leadership and his fire. Our players (not necessarily Pierce) need to step up to the mic and show these attributes.

He has fire but I question his leadership. A part of leadership is setting the example in the weight room or playing hard on D. Walker has none of that. He brings attitude and strut not true leadership and its why we reached a ceiling with his talent level. The kid could have been a much better player than he was too if he had only dedicated himself. PP and AW biggest problem is that they bought into their own hype too much.
