Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we have the Bird rights, which allows us to sign our own free agent (Walker), even if we exceed our MLE? - Resign Walker to bird rights (Al isn't ready) - Send Green, Bynum, Greene, and Perkins/Reed/Gomes to NBDL Roster rotation: C - Lafrentz/Jefferson/*Perkins/Blount PF - Walker/Jefferson/ Scalabrine SF - Pierce/Reed/Gomes SG - Allen/Davis/*Green PG - Banks/West/*Greene *NBDL Correct me if I'm wrong but we're only allowed to have a 12 man roster? I think Celtics will return with the same roster with the exception of no GP at pg. No need to make a significance trade unless its going to improve out future such as getting a quality bigman for our plathora of wingman. If I was Boston I would check out Eddie Curry situation to see what his health issues are right now as he can definitely help out the center position significantly. Other than that I go with the same roster as last season to see if they can improve .

14-MAN ROSTER. NO I.L.
Can AW be signed for Bird rights? Thought that had to be continuously with same team for a periodof years.

We do have Walker's Bird rights. He has not been with us for the past three seasons, but he has been under the same contract for the past three years, and that is what triggers Bird rights.

What I can't understand is how antione fans still talk like this. "If he does this, if he does that..." The guy is approaching ten years in the league. What you see is what you get. Are their still Atlanta Hawks fans hoping Kevin Willis will come into training camp with all of his flaws erased? Eventually people have to realize that Antione's development time is long over.
"trigger happy sf in a slow power forwards body.."
"But don't dont you see, Meltin, those days are over! THis season, Antione is gonna play in the post, and he's gonna be a maniac on the boards, and he's gonna shoot 80% from the line! I cant wait!" -typical Antione fanatic, just before he goes into the bathroom and does something unspeakable with an Antione Walker Starting Lineup action figure.

That was an amazing analysis fresh and all of that is indeed true about Antoine. MightyToine doesn't care though. Hes not a celtic fan. He probably does what you said a typical Antoine fanatic does. Why he is a Walker fanatic I do not know myself. Most celtic fans have to stop living in the past and thinking the past stars from the mid 90s to late 90s can make it work in this new system. People probably want Kenny Anderson back also. Oh I got an idea. Lets trade for Ron Mercer and trade our 2nd rd pick for Walter on a reversal. Most importantly, we need Rodney Rogers. Lets trade Perkins for him. Tony Battie and a washed up Eric Williams is worth trading Justin Reed and Al Jefferson for. OH YEA! Get all the old stiffs back.

But we made the EC finals with that team! Who cares if was the weakerst conference in the history of conferences, we still made it! If we wouldve kept that team together, who knows what we couldve done? Heck, we could win 45 games with that line-up! Get On the phones Danny! Now where did I put that Antione Walker doll?

Yea but that team wouldn't win you that now. This is 3 years later. Many of those guys were on their last legs as it was. This developmental plan will hold the team back some and as much as I want Pierce gone, this team won't make the playoffs next year anyways without him. I am a firm believer this is a better team without Pierce though. It just wouldn't be a drastic dropoff in wins without him though either.

I hear you, but I don't agree. AW at the 4 makes this a stronger team. AJ is not ready to start or play 35 minutes a game.
If he can be signed for Bird rights, and DA can get him back for something a little over the MLC, I'd like to see him do it. Obviously has to have some hard conversation about how he is going to have to play. And the threat of benching him if he does't play that way.
I just think that the front court is awfully thin in terms of guys who nigth in and night out can play 35 minutes. Without DA, its Raef. And if Blount doesn't bounce back, the Cs are screwed with the front-court guys we presently have.

If he can be signed for Bird rights, and DA can get him back for something a little over the MLC. Why do people keep saying that we should pay him MORE than market value? If nobody in the league is going to sign him for more than the MLE, why should we, if we plan on keeping him on our roster? I didn't know that we were some kind of social institute..
