A poster from RealGM, named BillfromBoston (whom I assume is Bill Simmons--the same guy who called the Payton trade before it happened, and who called the Gugliotta acquisition before the media did), is staking his credentials on Banks being shipped out soon if he doesn't show improvements.
Says that many outside sources who are in the know (not media types who act like they know what's going on) are saying that Ainge is shopping around to find suitors for Banks.
Well, this guy does have a good track record of calling things before they happen. Maybe this could be another one.

I'm feeling that way too. Not sure if he is in the know or just using common sense and hypothesizing? I got up today, started thinking Celtics and BAnks being traded was what popped in my head.

No, he mentions talking to his sources and hearing from majority of them that he's being shopped. He doesn't want to reveal too much because he's been trusted with a lot of inside information and he doesn't want to lose that trust they have in him. But for hiim to be bringing this up could be a signal of things to come. He wants to be the guy who breaks it first.

Who are you sources, CF? ;D
I can actually see Banks being moved and Bynum brought in. He's not flashy like Banks, but he's more direct in his offense and he's got defensive abilities also. He doesn't have a lot of wasted efforts when he's dribbling the ball. Its like point A to point B. With Banks, he overdribbles, and for the amount of time he's dribbling, he doesn't accomplish much. Flash but no substance. Bynum is more substance, less flash.
I don't know if I'd care for Dickau coming here.

I have no sources. I have no credibility. I'm just talking. I agree with C17 that its just common sense.... I don't even know if he is gone or should be gone. He is still a talented guy that could potentially stick around. I do think when looking at the roster he is the most tradeable sweetener we have. The names im throwing out there are just guys Id like to get back and might make sense considering the rumors Ive heard over the past couple years.

But we were only guessing based on our limited knowledge. With this Bill guy saying some pretty credible things, its got a heck of a lot more weight to it.

I heard Antoine trade rumors for years before it actually happened. Same thing for Pierce. So I usually don't listen to those rumors but i admit we can't keep having good drafts forever without trades.

Right on the head, Eja. Ainge is stockpiling talent for a reason. He knows that he can't give all these draft picks the playing time they need to fully develop their skills. At some point, he will execute the third "D" of his gameplan, which is 'deal' (the other 2 D's are draft and develop). 'Deals' cover free agency, as well as trades. There's only so much Ainge can do in the free agency because he only has the MLE to work with.
I think a trade is eminent. If not this summer, probably before the season starts (remember, that's when he traded Walker away). It may not include Pierce and it may not be a significant trade. But something could go down this summer, and I think chances are good that it will happen.

Banks was left out the summer league too and I think that raises suspicions he is going to be dealt.
