Many of our past guys on our 90s losing teams went on to bigger and better things for sure. Hopefully bigger and better things for our 2004 and up guys will be here in celtic land and not elsewhere like fox, chauncey or bowen.

I would like to think that some of these role players benefited greatly from Shaq, as well as Duncan. I am not sure they would have had the same kind of impact w/ the Celtics. One exception - Billups. I know Pitino gave up on him too early.

In all actuality, Bruce Bowen isn't a really good player. He just fits into the Spurs' system so well. Aside from his open three point shooting (courtesy of Tim Duncan being double teamed) and his defense, he's limited in other aspects of the game.
And David Wesley was actually a good player for us. Put up good scoring numbers.
I think if we were to let go of Ryan Gomes, he'd be another one that we let get away.

The same could be said about Fox. He put the best #s of his career when he was in boston.

Exactly. Fox had a nice career going for him in Boston. But he moved to LA because he wanted to pursue a side career in acting, which never panned out.
So far, on Ainge's watch, we haven't lost anyone who made him look like a fool for giving up on them. But soon Ainge may have to move someone we hold in high regards, and it might hurt some of us (like the Banks' fans, Walker's fans, Pierce's fans, etc.).

Fox went to LA after Pitino relinquished Cs rights to him, as I recall.

Not a drive to the basket type. Just a good outside shooter before now hes a great one. Had he not found SA, he'd stay the same. Duncan made him. Oh, I also forgot DAMON JONES. He was a celtic shortly. But, Shaq made him better this past year by getting doubled and dishing it out to him. I hate to say Shaq made anyone because he is lazy but from all his doubles, he dishes it out to Jones and he got all his points that way. The main guys this team let go were Fox, Wesley, Radja and Billups. Only Radja ended the NBA off some agreement he backed out of. The others had better careers.

I wouldn't say he is terrible. True, if you take away baseline 3-pointers, the guy is a complete doofus on offense. Sometimes in the middle of a Spurs game I have to turn off the T.V. and sit in silence just to contemplate the absolute suck that is Bowen's FT %. The thing that saves him is his defense. That guy received the buton as the NBA's most irritating player. Bruce is always doing something to piss off the guy he's guarding, but he never gets called for any of it. So I guess what I'm saying is that Bruse Bowen is an evil genius. An evil genius that can't shoot free throws to save his life.
Fun Fact: When i talk fast, I pronounce 'free throws' as 'three frows.' Give it a try!

Yes, he's been our best summer league player. He has an outside chance at taking the future SF spot if he continues his good play. He needs to prove himself as a strong bench guy first. But his court sense and versatile scoring ability could land him a starting SF job eventually.
I like to think that Green is our future SF. But if Gomes plays darn well enough, he could push Tony Allen to the bench, and force Rivers to play Green at SG. Rivers must be smiling wide with the potential this young team has.

Thats why this time needs time more than anything else. Is green going to be the next t-mac, or is he going to be out of the league within 4 years? cuz it could go either way.

I may have blind faith, but I really feel that Gerald Green is going to make a fabulous pro.
