Wonder how GG woulld be faring if he was playing the 2.
I'm a little more optimistic about Powe and Davis because I think they represent a different skill set than Gomes.

Powe didn't play much in the first half. Davis played the whole half and had 11 rebounds and 3 blocks in the half. He played incredible but struggled offensively.

Davis may well have moved beyond Powe today. Maybe best thing about today uis that Greene got mad about his play. I thought Pruitt played some basic PG---seemed to me he was hanging with his man on defense; on offense, getting the ball down court and making an entry pass to start the offense. Don't remember him driving the lane.
Would have liked to see the play if GG had been at the 2 and Wallace at the 3.

I didn't think Davis moved past Powe, but I thought he took a good step forward and showed there's not much drop off. He plays as good of offense, shoots better from the line, and passes better

Could be. Fact is, that makes 3 guys backing up AJ---Powe, Davis, Gomes---all with different skill sets. Not to mention Sca. Gomes is planning on being able to play the 2---where there are 2 guys already backing up PP.
Not all those guys are going to be on the roster.
I just hope that there is another 5 coming aboard so that AJ at the 5 isn't in the cards as a regular thing. And I sure as hell don't want to think of Scal backing up Perk.

These are the summer league stats. www.nba.com/summerleague2007/team/index.jsp?team=celticsThey all did bad except Powe. Although I'm not happy with is 0 blocks per game, 55% FT, and 5 fouls in less than 30 mins. I'd rank it in terms of what we need as something like Powe Wallace Davis Pruitt Look at Rondo's stats. Just horrid. |
