Rondo/Ray/Green/Davis/Powe
Players to Watch Leon Powe: Powe is coming off a very strong game against the Chinese National Team. He is showing that he can play and hopefully he will build on the last game and come out strong again.
Gerald Green: Green has been a disappointment so far in summer league and he needs to make a strong showing in his last two games.
Allan Ray: Ray is playing for a spot on this team. He has been struggling offensively and needs to break out if he wants to keep his spot on the team.
Rajon Rondo: Rondo proved that he can score when he needs to against the Chinese team. He should have another strong game against the Bucks.

Lynn Greer Greer has been the best player for the Bucks so far and is averaging 16 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals per game.
Noel Felix Felix has averaged 14.5 points, 5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. His defense inside may cause some problems for our inside scoring.

Good observation. I seemed to see Powe more clearly, I guess. loved his banging on the offensive boards and getting garbage. Haven't really had anyone do that in a long time. And I think he deserves some credit for playing the 5 and defending taller guys. Seems to have held his own at that.

The CHI national team is pretty bad, even when they had Yao.

Powe plays much bigger than 6'8" With those long arms and leaping ability, along with his aggressiveness, he can cover bigger players. I love this kid!!

The CHI national team is pretty bad, even when they had Yao. If I remember correctly, Don't they have 16-18 year olds on their roster? That plays a huge dividends when you're going up against Collegiate players/nba veterans.

We have 7 players who have scored! This is great news! Also Davis has 6pts and there are 3 players with 4pts (Green, Ray, and Wallace)

We've got 8 players now who have scored. Ray now leads the C's with 7 pts.
Boston is still behind 37-32

Main impression: GG's value is shrinking. Only guy in starting lineup who didn't make double figures.
I thought there were any number of bright spots: (In no particular order)
1 perhaps start with Davis, since Cs need a big man. I was impressed with his scoring low on the box. His jump shots looked to have a good touch.
2. Powe's stats not as impressive as last game. But he banged a good bit.
3. Pruitt had some nice plays, both offensively and defensively.
4. Wallace rebounded well. Loved his BS late in the game when he left his man, went to a guy low on the post and blocked the shot from behind.

Great win!!! 84-76
Davis had 16; Pruitt & Ray had 14, 11 for Powe.
Too bad Rondo couldn't play.

Davis's passing is going to be a real plus.

I still think the team is playing horrid horrid summer ball. Nobody is stepping up. Rondo is proving you need to pray Telfair has improved and that we can get a vet.
Looking at GG's performance against the Bucks this is what we're looking at. He still can't buy a bucket, going 3 for 12. He got outrebounded by Pruitt. Pat Carroll, L Allred, and Ray got just as many rebs. He got 1 assist and 2 TOs in 18 mins. 0 blocks. 0 steals. He has regressed, plain and simple. Either that or he's "working on" aspects of his game that he can't do.
Ray won't be with us after this unless he explodes for the rest of the summer. He's got less of a chance of sticking than Dwayne Jones had. A lot less.
B Wallace put up some intriguing numbers. 6 points on 100% shooting, 0-4 from the line. 9 rebs, which is what Davis and Powe both got, and Powe played 8 mins more. He led the team with 2 blocks. only 1 TO and 1 foul. Brace yourselves. We might have that rarest of animals. A Celtic who plays defense. I have more confidence in him right now than GG. If we were in the playoffs I'd rather have Wallace in there defending a good 3 than GG.
I think Powe might be the next Gomes and Davis might be the next Powe. They both have some ability but I think they are mostly depth. Powe seems to be the one who gets it right now and knows what he's doing. Davis is readjusting. They are good for each other. But I don't think either one has passed Gomes as our next best big man, and I'm not even 100% sure they are better than Scala. Don't get the idea in your head for a minute that Scala couldn't go to the summer league and get 9 rebs and 11 points like Powe.
On the Bucks here are the guys that put up good numbers against us. David Noel, L Greer, A Storey.
So our guys might not be much better than them.

Don't get the idea in your head for a minute that Scala couldn't go to the summer league and get 9 rebs and 11 points like Powe. Hear Hear! It is always best to take everything that happens in summer league with a grain of salt. C's fans were annoiting Brandon Hunter as the second coming when he dubuted in summer league. Where is he now? Al disappointed everyone in SL last year. He only went on to have a serious breakout season.

Boston Celtics vs Dallas Mavericks Saturday 7/14, 4:00 pm Eastern time Televised live on FSN and NBA-TV
Boston Celtics Roster No. Player Pos. Ht. Wt. College/year 57 Lance Allred C 6-11 270 Weber State 46 Pat Carroll G/F 6-5 190 St. Joseph’s 11 Glen Davis F 6-9 289 Louisiana State 59 Torin Francis F 6-11 252 Notre Dame 58 Andreas Glyniadakis C 7-1 280 Greece 5 Gerald Green G-F 6-8 200 Gulf Shores Academy 0 Leon Powe F 6-8 240 California 13 Gabe Pruitt G 6-4 170 Southern California 12 Allan Ray G 6-2 190 Villanova 9 Rajon Rondo G 6-1 171 Kentucky 36 Sergio Sanchez G 6-3 207 Spain 49 Brandon Wallace F 6-9 203 South Carolina
Probable Starters
Pruitt//Ray/Green/Davis/Powe
Players to Watch Gabe Pruitt Pruitt shows that he has what it takes to lead a team as he played the point for almost the entire game against the Bucks and did very well. He showed a nice touch on offense as well as playing solid defense. He will see big minutes again in this game and have a chance to build on his solid performance last night.
Gerald Green Gerald has been a big disappointment so far in the Summer League. This is his last chance to make an impression. He needs to come out strong and have a good game. He may be trying too hard on offense but he has shown some improvement on defense. It would be nice to see him put together a good game in the final summer leage game.
Allan Ray Ray is playing for a spot on the team and hasn't impressed so far. Like Green, this is his last chance to impress Danny enough to get his option picked up. This is the equivalent of a contract year in one game.
Leon Powe, Big Baby Davis, Brandon Wallace All 3 of our big men have been impressive and need to have another big game today if we are to win this one. The ability of this trio to rebound and defend are a big reason that the Celtics are winning.
Dallas Mavericks Roster Num Player Position Height Weight From 13 Maurice Ager G 6-5 202 Michigan State 11 Jose Juan Barea G 6-0 175 Northeastern 10 Eddie Basden G 6-5 215 UNC-Charlotte 54 Brandon Bass F 6-8 240 Louisiana State 30 Warren Carter F 6-9 220 Illinois 7 DeSagana Diop C 7-0 280 32 Leonardo Dos Santos F 6-11 230 33 Nick Fazekas F 6-11 235 Nevada-Reno 4 Jamon Gordon G 6-3 212 Virginia Tech 45 Caleb Green F 6-8 238 Oral Roberts 21 Pops Mensah-Bonsu F 6-9 240 George Washington 20 Jared Newson G 6-5 215 Tennessee-Martin 9 Renaldas Seibutis G 6-5 180 23 Reyshawn Terry F 6-8 232 North Carolina 24 Clay Tucker G 6-3 195 Wisc.-Milwaukee
Probable Starters
Ager/Barea/Mensah-Bonsu/Terry/Diop
Players to Watch Jose Juan Barea Barea has been opening eyes with his play in the summer league and will be a challenge for Rondo on both ends of the court. He is averaging 15.5 points and 5.0 assists in their 4 games so far.
Maurice Ager Ager has played well and is averaging 13.2 points and 3 rebounds per game. He had a game high 19 points in their last game.
Pops Mensah-Bonsu Pops has gotten the attention of some GMs with his play particularly on the defensive end. He is averaging 8.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
Brandon Bass Brass has been averaging 14.3 points and 6.7 rebounds off the bench.
Nick Fazekas Fazekas came off the bench to score 10 points and pull down 4 rebounds in the Mavs last game.
This is going to be a good test for the team as Dallas is one of 2 undefeated teams in Vegas (NY is the other). A win would give us a 4-1 record and make for a very successful Summer League.

Cannot wait for this game. This is gonna be real tough matchup for Pruitt because Jose Barea is a tough little cookie.
