Danny is nevotiating not only for today, but keeping an eye out for tomorrow too. That’s why he needs to be cautious of what he signs off on. Wants to always be in position to make a big move when opportunity presents itself.

ATL is signing Gallinari to a 3 year 65 mil deal. That probably takes them out of the Hayward sweepstakes.
Down to IND, NY, CHA and BOS. I think it’s safe to count out CHA.
We know that he prefers to go back home, but IND doesn’t have the cap space to just sign him as a free agent. Would he go to NY and be under that kind of scrunity? I doubt it.
So I would say that we have the leverage in this negotiation.

This Hayward trade negotiation might come down to a 3 team fiasco.

He could have played next year on a huge contract and still been a trade chip on an expiring. Then he would have still been a free agent next year and could have still signed a pretty nice contract, especially if he stayed injury free. It makes me think his health isn't the greatest or he's nervous about being buried by Jaylen. Something has just gone wrong for GH. Indy may want him, but they don't exactly seem to be jumping out of their seat to get him

All I want to know right now is who Ainge is targetting.

I think maybe GH has to come to the realization he's not worth tons more than a Myles Turner and that he's not an all star any more. So he won't get the deal he wanted. Maybe he was looking for 25 and instead he's realizing he's going to get 17, which is half what he turned down

Or he’s thinking next year’s free agency will not offer as much money? Or maybe Hayward doesn’t like being the 4th banana?

That might end up being a ton of money to give up to go from being 4th to 2nd or 3rd. I wonder if he thinks Brad changed. Maybe Brad treats him different as a 4th banana than he did as a far and away 1rst banana.

They want Hayward, but are lowballing us. I don’t think Ainge is trying to fleece them, just wants what is fair for them. He’s trying to help them and help Hayward. If they want Hayward, be fair to Danny.

So to keep the lockerroom, Gordon has to leave.

It's going to get very interesting if he takes a pay cut to come back to us. With the drafting of Langford and Nesmith.....that wing spot might start getting crowded.

I'm not as impressed with Brad as I used to be at all and maybe Gordan isn't either. Gordan may even feel like he basically made Brad and that Brad passed him over.

Sounds like Christian Wood is nearing a deal with Houston, 3 years 27 mil.

Yeah, Brad isn’t the fresh face that everyone’s beaming about anymore. He’s had his fair share of talented teams and hasn’t made it to the Finals yet. He has to take that next step. I think Hayward is too nice, and maybe indecisive. Maybe Brad did yell at him once and it hurt his feelings. I don’t know. Sounds like his wife Robyn isn’t all that thrilled about Boston. Maybe that’s playing into his decision.
