This is a short offseason, and there won’t be a lot of time to restructure the roster. We’re only a couple of weeks before teams get ready for the new season.
We don’t yet know who’ll be on the team and what we’ll look like on opening day. Hayward opted out of his contract, but still could re-sign here. Poirier was traded. Semi could he gone, as well as Kanter.
We just drafted Nesmith and Pritchard, and they’ll be given a shot to compete for backup minutes.
We’ll see what other moves we make in the coming days.

I kinda think the short off season might help our rookies. It's counter intuitive but Prichard is a 4 year starter and Nesmith has a bona fide serious skill and a very clearly defined role. Shoot it if you're open from 3, play defense as hard as you can, and pass the ball to anyone if you're not open or in a clear mismatch.
And that's it. I think it could help our rookies at least get off to a good start compared to some other rookies.

With Kanter back, we have our three headed center, and plenty of PGs and wings. I'd like to see us get a PF who can rebound and play D.

The quicker they learn Brad’s defensive schemes, the more time they’llnsee the floor. But yeah, their shooting should play right off the bat (but then again, that’s what I said about Carsen Edwards last year).

By the way, Ainge said they want to pick up a veteran 4/5, and a backup wing.

If Hayward wants to go home to Indiana, whoever we trade for, I hope Doug McDermott is included. Really liked this guy at Creighton. Incredible three point shooter, and an underated (hardly ever used) post up game that I hope Brad will unleash.

Im calling a mcdermott/turner to bos for Hayward and future first. Boston gets something instead of losing Hayward for nothing, and Indy gets their local boy.
It's a shame how Hayward's time in Boston went. Two years virtually lost. I really liked the guy this season, and thought he fit in well. Guess he doesn't want to be the 4th wheel here. I guess I can't blame him for that.

I think the trouble is with his lack of speed, he often has to play PF, and he struggles to post up opposing PFs who are often bigger than he is.

I got burned by McDermott in a fantasy keeper league. After a good college and summer league I picked him 8th or something. Very good pick down the drain. He tested well athletically at the combine. Son of a coach. Elite shooting. Dud of a career. I want to avoid him. I also find him redundant on this team.

I am seeing the Celtics will not extend a qualifying offer to Brad Wannmaker, making him an UFA. If they decide to bring him back they still have his early bird rights. I don't know lots about that.
They have exercised the team option on Semi, but I guess they have till Saturday to change their mind or something and he is not expected back.
They have extended qualifying offers to Tacko and Waters making the restricted free agents.
Combining the Waters news with the Wannamaker news it appears the backup pg spot is now a fight between Pac 12 POY and first team All American PP and SEC co defensive POY and D League MVP Waters.
The other SEC DPOY on the roster (2 times) is Time Lord

A free agent I'd love to see the Celtics offer is UFA Isaiah Hartenstein. They could have him for a dollar more than whatever Europe offers.

Fast forward a few years, and I don’t see the growth. Big body, a little uncoordinated, not smooth operating in the paint, etc. I’m going to pass on Hartenstein.

I think the issue is he can't hit jumpers very well, so he becomes an offensive liability in the modern game. But is R Will hitting his jumpers? We need rebounding and defense too.

RWill doesn’t hit a lot of jumpers either, but he’s a greater lob threat, and defensively, he’s a much greater shot eraser.
