I think the issue is he can't hit jumpers very well, so he becomes an offensive liability in the modern game. But is R Will hitting his jumpers? We need rebounding and defense too. RWill doesn’t hit a lot of jumpers either, but he’s a greater lob threat, and defensively, he’s a much greater shot eraser. I would just point out IH's D League stats are similar to what Clint Capela's were and in the neighborhood with Tacko (although probably not blocks), but he is two years younger than Tacko and he also has put up some interesting stats in the NBA when given a chance. I put him in the decent young prospect category. I hope our two way contracts end up being bigs because we have drafted so many small guys and wings lately. Carsen, Waters, Yam, PP, Nesmith, Romeo, Semi Kanter opted back in. So it looks like we have Kanter, G Will, R Will, and Tacko so far, and realistically I see Tatum as a 4 in today's game. Especially if he adds another 8 lbs of muscle.

Kanter opted in, but it doesn’t rule out him being traded. By opting in, he’s guaranteeing himself that 5 mil, in case he’s traded.

Seems like Hayward’s most likely destination (if he’s leaving) is Indiana.
I’m not exactly happy with what we could get in return (any combination of these players)
Myles Turner Victor Oladipo Doug McDermott Jeremy Lamb
I mean, I like Turner, I like Dipo and I like McD — just don’t love them, not excited over them.

I think it’s pretty much a done deal — Hayward to IND for Myles Turner (no Dipo).
Turner is gone because I guess they want to roll with Sabonis.
Just waiting till 6pm tonight to find out (but won’t be official until Sunday).

I'd love love love to get Sabonis, but that wouldn't happen. I actually like the Pacers roster. It seems young and affordable. I realize the team is kinda a middling playoff team, but I find their players at least likable. TJ Warren is only 10 mill. Aaron Holiday is only 2.3 mill. His brother Justin is 4.7 mill and I don't think that's a good fit for us due to age and price, but he's competent. Malcolm Brogdan is 20mill. I don't see that as a good contract. I don't really like TJ Leaf at 2.8mill Jakar Sampson is 1.6mill. I don't see the upgrade over Semi at that price. They drafted the center Goga Bitadze last year. Maybe if we're lucky he makes them feel more confident about moving a big, especially if we sent one back. But Brogdan and TJ Warren together are 30 mill, with is close to Hayward. If we got Brogdan, TJ, and Aaron Holiday for Hayward, Pritchard, and a future lotto protected first and some 2nds....I'd be fine with that. I think that would give us a lot of depth we need and address some things. Victor O is 21mill. They may prefer to do that. If he's over his injury I think that could be huge.

At this point, it’s anyone’s guess. We’ve been thinking Turner, but maybe it won’t be. Brogdon would be great, but I highly doubt it.

I'm seeing the Knicks are aggressively pursuing Hayward. I guess that would have to mean Julius Randle. I'd probably try to insist on Mitchell Robinson too if they want him that bad. I don't find that roster all that appealing. I don't hate the draft pick they took. I don't hate RJ Barrett in a vacuum, but don't really feel there's much room for him here. You'd have to probably send back Nesmith, which I don't think I'd be very happy about. Nesmith is a way better shooter.

Never liked Barrett, and I still don’t. Like Randall, but his defense isn’t where we need it to be.

Who are the shiny free agents to pursue?
I mean, if there is a key free agent veteran big and / or wing to purse, trading with NY for their TPE would give us flexibility to go after them.

I'm under the impression that while a lot of people respect Randle he's just not a great fit for the current NBA. If I favored him over Smart I was wrong. Wrong I say. I don't think I did, but I think when Marcus couldn't buy a bucket I had buyer's remorse.

Fred van Vleet, Montrezl Harrell, Tristan Thompson, Derrick Favors, Ibaka, Resrtricted guys: Melo, Hassan Whiteside, DeMarcus Cousins also...Jordan Clarkson, Jeff Teague, Alec Burks, Reggie Jackson, Nerlens Noel, Willie Cauley Stein, Alex Len, Noah Vonleh, Robin Lopez, Thon Maker, Frank Kaminsky I guess there are guys in there that could help at the right price
