According to Mannix, the Nuggets, the Pacers and the Kings are showing interest in Marcus Smart. I think the Pacers interest is real. DEN would have to do some cap options, and the Kings, you really never know.

LOL. Vlade has done a lot of things most GMs would not do, generally because he has no front office experience.

Wait till another team give him an offer to see if he's worth bringing back. I can't imagine King/Den or the pacers are going to give anything more than 10-12 mil per season for a PG that shoot 35% from the field.

He isn't worth that much, I see no reason to bring him back unless it is at 6M or less. He is literally half a player and was a "nice to have" but not a necessity to win a championship and he needs to be treated as such in free agency.

Rozier's name is popping up in the draft trade talks. An educated guess is if Rozier is traded, we're keeping Smart.
If that happens, hoping either Smart increases his shooting percentage, or they tell him not to shoot as much.

Unfortunately I don't see either happening. All we ever hear is that both coaches and teammates encourage Smart to shoot if he's open. If he's back with us next season, the entire Garden crowd needs to yell "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!" any time he even looks like he's about to shoot.

Doers anybody think Smart could actually shoot worse playing for another team? The Coach Stevens list of player shooting worse for another team is really impressive. AKA system players.

We know Smart loves it here, but at the end of the day, it comes down to fit.
Even if we offer market value, Smart still might go elsewhere because he’s now the 4th wheel, or the 2nd guard off the bench (Rozier has jumped ahead of him, and may not look back).
Smart will not get the exposure, or the minutes to showcase his perceived value playing behind Kyrie, Jaylen, Hayward, Tatum and Rozier. That will have an affect on how much he’ll get paid on his next contract.
Smart is a competitor, and i’m sure he wants to get paid. These will weigh heavily on his decision to stay with us or move on to wider pastures.

I have an idea for Smart. Instead of trying to put the ball in the hoop from behind the arc, he should just aim for the general neighborhood and let our new rookie go up and get it and drop it through. Take two limited offensive players, turn one into an assist genius and the other into a feared inside scorer. Who says good ideas don't come to you when you're exhausted at the end of the work week?

Williams has some serious hop. Really misused in college, esp the second year.

Looks like more teams are going after Smart, depending on his price.
What does your gut say — is he staying or leaving?
