Comes down to this for me: does Bogut help us get by the Cavs and Warriors? Even if he's healthy, does he? Both teams can play lineups with "centers" that can shoot outside, pulling Bogut out of the paint where he is most effective. I think we'll pass. I agree. BOS has Darth Baynes and Theis as back up centers. If Bogut could shoot the 3, maybe.

What would you give up for a 32 year old Marc Gasol? He has to be close to being delt, I guess it comes down to how much Memphis is asking for. It is either Gasol or try to pry one of the bigs away from New Orleans which (should) cost us a lot more.

If BOS wanted Gasol (who I really like), the package would have to include Horford for salaries to match. Horford is too valuable in Steven's game plan, hence I doubt BOS could cobble enough salaries to make a trade work.

One of Danny's reasons for wanting Kyrie over IT was because he was younger and fit with the timeline of the team better. At 32 years old, it would seem that Gasol is out of that timeline. I don't see Danny giving up any core players for him and it would have to be a core player to match salaries.

Interesting read on Red's Army thesportsdaily.com/reds-army/ that we apparently are pursuing both Lou Williams and Tyreke Evans, and that apparently we would consider a 1st round pick in exchange for Smart. Since Memphis is rumored to want a 1st round pick for Evans, perhaps a 3-team trade, where we send out Smart, 3rd team sends 1st round to Memphis and Memphis sends us Evans? Just connecting the dots on an off night. LOL

That isn't the case with Evans, so Memphis knows that the price will have to come down as nobody will want to give up a first rounder for a guy who can when you don't have their Bird rights, not to mention that Williams is a much better player right now anyway. So maybe a 3 team trade the exiles Smart and snatches us Lou would be a great way to end the trade season for Boston.

In reading about K. Leonard's apparent disconnect with the SA front office, can't help but wonder if there is an off-season opportunity for Danny. Age wise, he is right in between Kyrie and Gordon, and already is what we hope Taytum will be some day (20+ ppg and defensive POY). Other than this year he has been pretty healthy, so if he shows he is 100% late in March and in playoffs, I would be tempted. were I Ainge, to offer Jayson and a [HASH]1 if Leonard indeed is disenchanted with SA, or vice-versa.

Actually Tatum + Yabu + nadar + smart at the one year tender would work. If smart signs at the mle or thereabouts, just he, Tatum and Yabu would work. Would miss Tatum but K Leonard would be a big catch and IMO rozier plus Larkin would be more than adequate to back up brown and kyrie
