Now that Al Horford is in the mix, will Durant sign the dotted line and become the next Celtic superstar?

We simply have a significantly better team and coach now, with a better fan base, better history, and we sent Brady to him. There has never been a team with 3 all stars that has also picked 4 top 6 draft picks in a row, but that's where we are.

Maybe next year, but I still expect him to go back to OKC for one more year.

I say yes simply because I can't bear to think negatively. KD had tried to recruit Horford to the Thunder but they weren't sure if they'd have KD and Westbrook long term so I guess that KD couldn't guarantee he'd be back in OKC and I guess Westbrook isn't promising anything either.
There are reports that KD came to Boston on Friday and then flew back to the Hamptons with Brady on Saturday. I don't know if it was true but there are several reports about it.
I also saw that the Clippers resigned Austin Rivers for 3 years at $15 million. They also reportedly offered Jamal Crawford a contract. That may take them out of the Durant race. With Wade shopping around and and Deng gone and Johnson gone and Bosh questionable I don't see Miami being much of a draw.
I know that Durant wanted Horford in OKC but is his presence in Boston enough to swing him to here? Is his love of Larry Bird and Tom Brady enough to sway him? I personally have a feeling he's going back to OKC but if not, it's wide open.

I say yes as well.
Can't imagine Durant will want to go through this fiasco again. Great coach, great management, great teammates, great fan base, great history, great sports town, young team with bright future, high draft picks coming up to supplement talent.
And best of all, Eja. No other city has Eja.

Yeah, sounds like the Clips have conceded defeat. I don't think the Heat were ever in it (the news that Wade is weighing his options with Chicago and Milwaukee validates this). Even the Warriors to me, seem like they're not the favorites.
I think its down to us, the Spurs and OKC.

And OKC is probably the favorites because they can offer more years and more money and he seems to be very close with his teammates there.
BUT... Zach Lowe said he heard from someone who is normally right on with his reports that Al Horford is indeed on Durant's short list of players he would like to play with.
We should bring Perk back too. KD loves Perk and still is very close to him and Perk is his mentor.

And don't forget that KD likes Isaiah Thomas too (as do many players around the league. Little guy has lots of friends).

Yes!!! Momentum baby!! Plus better plays and less alternative hero ball.

Plus the Warriors have said they would match any offer to Barnes, and Dallas just signed Barnes to a max offer sheet. They can't match Barnes and sign KD. IMHO it is either us or OKC (with the Spurs a dark-horse).

And we have an obvious need for a go-to scorer. OKC has a hero ball player who plays hero ball when he doesn't need to.

IF Durant does choose us, what would you do with all those extra draft picks? Aim for a top prospect like Harry Giles who'll be blocked from court time for years? Or trade immediately for a need if one arises? We're certainly in a unique position where unlike the Celtics & the Len Bias draft where Bird was on the tail end of his career, we could be gearing up for a 5 year run at titles which could make some draft picks expendable. Its certainly a nice dilemma to have but all this hinges on what Durant does. It'd be great if he joins us and if not, I'd be looking to trade those picks immediately for a top center..Cousins maybe? and shift Horford to the 4 spot.

You keep drafting the highest level talent (upside) you can, and let Brad worry about he'll use them.

KD says he will make his decision within the next 24 - 36 days.
Ugggghhhh.... its going to be a very long 2 - 3 days.
