A cool way to look at our depth chart:
Raef vs. Perkins
Jefferson vs. Scalabrine
Pierce vs. Gerald Green
Allen vs. Ricky
Delonte vs. Banks
Reed vs. Gomes
**Blount **Orien Greene
My goodness, that second unit is looking like a potential powerhouose. We stand at 14 players at the moment. I'd have a hard time finding a few guys to cut so that we can bring in other players who may be better fits with this team (guys like Will Bynum).

Thats the thing with our line-up I dunno which of the youngns is worth sacrificing to open up a roster spot for a vet, if the need were to arise. I guess decisions like that are why Ainge gets the big bucks.

2-4 of the kids will lag behind. This will open PT for the rest. I still see practice being a dog-fight. They will all grow at differing rates. Then, they build more trade value.
It's easy to get attached to the kids - but we know they all might not be here when 17 comes. More than likely anyway.

Will Bynum chances are could make the roster (if Banks is dealt for a pick with no players coming back in any trade this year) Then this could make our 3 pg's Bynum, West and Greene if Greene isn't sent to the NBDL. But, if Greene is sent to the NBDL, this opens up room for that veteran pg Ainge is looking for like a Lindsey Hunter, Moochie Norris, D, Wesley or even Kenny.

Question for y'all: If you had to pick between Ricky Davis and Tony Allen, which one do you take?

Question for y'all: If you had to pick between Ricky Davis and Tony Allen, which one do you take? With the depth we have at the 2 & 3, we might not be hurt picking either one. I would go with Buckets because we need vet influence in the locker room and on the floor. I feel TA will be a solid player down the road but Ricky is solid now and is young in his own right. Tough call Derren... In a couple years it could be - 5- Mt Perk 4- Big Al 3- Reed or Gomes 2- Green 1- West or Greene 6th man- Buckets

I'd take umm its a tough call. Allen I'd keep and then trading Ricky for a real veteran leader. Ricky isnt a vocal leader or a motivator like some guys are.

The potential problem came from a practice last year. Remember when he started cussing with kids in the gym. RD went off about a foul call,in practice, Doc sent him home. I say put the Captain 'C' on nobody. Make the next guy earn it. PP you can hold it, the one you have, don't wear it until you prove it.

I'd take Tony Allen, but you are right about Ricky's vocal presense. When he comes into the game, you know that you've got some attitude/swagger coming in. I like that. Tony doesn't talk as much as Ricky does, but his game speaks for itself. He's got some swagger to him also--watch him after he makes a highlight dunk.

I think as Allen becomes a veteran, he will be vocal like that. Ricky if hes vocal now, I only pictured to be pissed off and yelling. I didnt see him as a vocal leader keeping the huddle in check though and keeping everybody calm. Thats what I meant.

I don't know if Allen will become vocal as he gets veteran status. Maybe an occassional outburst to get his teammates pumped up, or a yell here and there when he gets excited. He's more of an introverted player who keeps his thoughts inside--opposite of Ricky.

I would take Allen because he is a superior defender, which our team in the long-run will need moreso than scoring, which we should have in spades. Plus Allen is a superb rebounder for a player his size.

Yep, that's how I feel about him too. Plus, I think his offensive game will start showing up this year. He's an underrated ball handler and his penetrating game has gone unnoticed. But its there, and I feel we'll get to see a lot more of it as he becomes more in tune with the speed and physicality of the NBA.

He's more of an introverted player who keeps his thoughts inside--opposite of Ricky. Well, I never saw him in any game yelling or overly talking. If he did any talking, he was mainly showing it on the court when he had great games. tony allen. and he will be vocal as he used to be at oklahoma state Was he vocal there? I never watch college much.
