As much as I think TA had a good first year, and as much as he had a good summer I'd take the 6th man of the year (I don't know who won it but I thought he was just as good or better). We have to remember TA faded a little. Also people always get overly excited at young guys for multiple reasons. For one thing the draft is such a hit or miss thing when you actually hit and hit well it creates a lot of excitement. Also young players are figured to be around for a while and cheap. But make the guy do it twice. Plus Ricky isn't too overpaid or old, and is quite fast. He'd be a better starter and make more of an impact on most other teams. He will win you more games (right now). I'd be very curious to see who has more value on the trade market. I mean if we could trade away Ricky i'd probably do it for salary reasons but only if we got back picks and young prospects who are very very good. At least as good as TA

At least as good as TA I tried to keep up with you but you were all over the place here. He's not overpaid ---- you would trade him for salary reasons....But you would need to get picks as good as TA ---- Yet, first, you would take the young vet (6th man candidate) over him. I'm kind lost. ;D I still would take Ricky over TA. RD plays solid defense too guys.

Ricky earns his money, so he's not overpaid, but he earns a lot of money, so I'd trade him for salary (cap) reasons. When you can dump someone who earns a lot in favor of a good cheaper option you can do it. Even if they aren't overpaid
I wouldn't want to trade Ricky in favor of TA. if I wanted to trade Ricky "I'd want back picks and young prospects who are very very good. At least as good as TA"
And as much as I like TA I'd take the 6th man of the year (who was really Ricky) if I had to choose between them
Ricky is a young vet.

In a couple years it could be - 5- Mt Perk 4- Big Al 3- Reed or Gomes 2- Green 1- West or Greene
I hope our lineup is better than this in a cpl of years. Chances are, all of our young guys won't pan out to be stars, especially since none of those guys went in the top 15 in the draft...which, especially in the NBA, makes a difference. I just hope we have one proven star in that line-up for the future....as for the TA and Ricky debate, you have to go with Ricky- definitely a proven talent, with a small contract.

That lineup leaves out Pierce, or whatever we get in return for Pierce.

That lineup leaves out Pierce, or whatever we get in return for Pierce. That was a lineup I posted a day or two ago. I figure PP will be gone within the next couple year and have no guess who we might get in return. I was just picking from current Celts and dreaming a bit. I also had Davis as the 6th man.

Borch has not proven himself. Seems like a "filler" to the deal at this point.

Right Runner. I don't see any of the vets we got in the Walker trade making the team. It was all for show. DA might use them as filler himself. If we go for a vet PG that is.

Yea, it would make sense for Danny to package Borch and Woods to get someone like Bobby Sura

If we could get Sura for Borch and Woods, I would jizz all over the place. That would be absolute junk for a beautiful pick-up...talk about an allaround player...fact is, we had better include Banks in that deal as well...and I think I might just do it.

Who knows. They would probably ask Banks but then Danny could counter and ask for another 2nd round pick.

I really am not a huge fan of all of these 2nd rnd picks, to tell you the truth...one might pan out to be pretty good over the years, but it seems like a lot of effort to try to work on these players, for one or two to become average. Sura would be quite an acquisition.
