we don't have 2,5 mill of mle left. 2,5 went to scalabrine, 0,6 went to gomes, something (i don't remember exactly) went to orien greene. i think we have a bit more than million left.
prepare for west, banks, greene rotation. maybe it's not a bad solution. trial by fire...

I'd like to go after a vet PG because I think we have a better shot at making the playoffs if we acquire a vet who can get the kids through the tough times.
But, we may not need one if Rivers is going to use Pierce and Ricky as ball handlers too.

and honestly who do you see as a good pg, left on the free agent market? basically none if you exclude dickau. i doubt we see a trade before the season

Well, free agency is not the only way to get a vet PG. We are currently overstacked, so we need to cut players or make trades to get rid of the excess. Last time I heard, Ainge was looking to deal Blount. He could probably fetch us a guy like Chucky Atkins, if the Lakers are interested in getting a mobile big man.

Washington you mean? Atkins went to Washington with Butler. And no, I do not want Chucky Shatkins. No good veteran pg's are available and Dickau is not of veteran status. The last thing I want to see is some old pg slowing it down. Every year, theres been one whether its been Bimbo Coles or what not. In 2003, that was the only time Boston did not have a veteran pg starting. Danny should do that all over again. Only this time, no old men pg's at all.

Buckets brought the ball up, in cruch time, a lot last year. He also shut down the other teams PG often. RD has a hovering D w/ pressure. Let me save DM a post - I see that in Tony Allen too. Me - Let's add Justin Reed to that list.

Well, its looking like Dickau could be the PG Ainge nabs. Can't call him a vet because he's only had 1 more season in the NBA than Banks.

Bynum in the NBDL makes 4. Can we say trade?

I think we want the ball, for ball handling, not in P2's hands. This was one reason his turnovers were up. The ball should be in the hands of the point guard running the show.

Right again, RR. Pierce often dribbles the ball excessively, and when he does this, the offense stops moving and people stand around waiting for him to make his move. Even when he'd grab defensive rebounds, instead of pushing the ball ahead, he'd take the ball himself past midcourt and by then, the fast break opportunity has passed.
He is able to make good reads and thread tight passes. But Pierce shouldn't control the offense as much anymore. Not with the way we are trying to execute ball movement.

If theres a trade, It could be Banks who goes and Orien will be in the NBDL so 3 pgs technically with West, Bynum and Dickau.

Don't see Bynum on the main roster over green. Green shut him down in one-on-one workouts. Plus Green gives a very interesting possibility because of his height of playing both 1 and 2. Would find it interesting to see him at the 2 in a rpessing or smaller lineup. Also, may be times when having 2 guys who can play like PGs in the olineup will be of value.
Interesting.
