Wow! I wish I shared your optomism.......
But I agree with Mr Bill Simmons of page 2:
28. "We need you. Hell, I need you. I'm a mess without you. I miss you so damned much. I miss being with you. I mess being near you. I miss your laugh. I miss your scent. I miss your musk. When this all gets sorted out, I think you and me should get an apartment together."
To the Celtics' front office and coach Doc Rivers, who need to start saying similar things to Paul Pierce every day from this point on ... or else he's going to make Vince Carter's Operation Sabotage in Toronto look like child's play by comparison. Pierce is 28 years old, nearly made the NBA Finals three years ago, is the fourth-highest scorer in the league since 1997, and is one of those guys who watches old playoff games on ESPN Classic and NBA TV and wishes he was playing in them. You really think he wants to go through another rebuilding effort and bridge the gap between the Pierce/Antoine Era and the Green/Jefferson Era? Please.
Pierce needs to be traded outta here before training camp along with Blonut. Hell trade them to the Bricks for Alan Houston's contract and Stephon Marbury and a bazillion draft picks. Well that is stretching it too far.
Really Pierce is not going to be happy having to serve as a bridge to the Green/Jefferson era while he cannot contend. His buddy Antione is gone and so he should be moved too and the Celtics rebuilding is complete.

And the fact someone said Martell Webster will be better. I laugh at that. Webster is going to get tons of playing time this year. He definitely have alot more experience than Green this year. Far as down the road. only Gerald Green himself can prevent himself from being a star.

Yeah, I counted 8 of our 9 young players there. The only one who isn't--is Marcus Banks. Even Will Bynum is working out in Waltham. You really gotta get excited when you read about how these guys are so intent on working out together and trying their best to get better. The coaching staff must really be loving this.

Marcus Banks should be moved IF I had to pick any of our young guys. Why isn't Banks in Waltham practicing still? Bynum is already steps ahead of him.

I would like to see Bynum play first. He might fit in with the program.

To all those guys that said AW or PP is our best player I would say this: Even though I can't justify it numerically I think a guy who tries hard but doesn't do as well is a "better" player. Or a player who isn't as good but wins more is "better". Under this theory Joe Montana and Tom Brady are "better" than Dan Marino or Peyton Manning. Troy Brown is "better" than Randy Moss. Almost everyone is "better" than Patrick Ewing or Isiah Rider. There are just some players that are winners and some players are losers no matter how much "better" they are. PP and AW are Dan Marinos.

If we're looking to go young, then I think it would be proper to part ways with pp. This team has plethora of wingmen who could possibly fill the void if Pierce is gone. I say trade Pierce for a quality big man especially at Center. I wouldn't wait until PP explodes either cause then you're going to get a simlar deal that Toronto got with NJ. It would tick me off if Ainge cannot get any 1st round draft picks for him cause we waited too long.

Adios, Eja. Have a good time in Europe. And if you see a guy running down the street with a "I love wet noodles" shirt on, that'll be BCHistorian.
