The thing is I agree with you to an extent. I dont think we need WAlker around. And inthe right situation he could potentially go. With the young guys that we have now it might be time. Why i brought up the Davis deal, because it did make some sense.. I still wouldnt mind having Walker around though. I'm not as sold that DAvis and Scalabrine are really that much better than what we had/could have.. Or that the rooks are ready to take it all on themselves. Same goes for Pierce. Keeping Pierce and Walker around isnt such a bad thing. Pierce being the more valuable of the two.

I see the young guys as ready. If not we fall a bit. I would rather DA build the bench with players willing to play "bench". I like AW, to a point now, I just don't see him with us next season (06-07) so why sign him for one year. He will want more, I might guess.
He should want more and get it in another system. DA's going real young.

I agree. They definately need to play. Im interested in how the nbdl is going to work and what kind of trades Ainge pulls. Expect the unexpected... You figure we have 10 spots for guys that are going to get fairly consistant time. Right now I see these guys definately getting a good chunk of time
West Pierce Ricky Allen Green Jefferson Raef Perkins
Guys like
REed Banks Blount Scalabrine Gomes
are all onthe fence. It is possible we could squeeze 2 more quality players into the lineup whether its out of that group, or via trade, free agency whatever.

What did you gain from todays game vs Dallas? Put it in the "Summer Thread" if you would.

I saw somewhere that the last 2 years of Scal's contract were club option.

You list of 8 does not include a second PG. As is, Banks will be in the regular rotation
I'm in the minority, but I also expect Blount to be in the rotation and bounce back for a decent year.

DA was a confident, almost cocky player. I think he is the same way about his ability as GM. He thinks that he is bright and making good decisions about the draft and trades. He has gotten the roster younger, more athletic, etc. AND he thinks he can make the playoffs with a young team
He thinks he has a good coach to coach young players in a new kind of game (recently) which will excite Boston again.
Those are the main things he thinks. The decisions he makes about players, etc., are secondary to this.
