Some team like Sacramento will probably get him. Some unexpected team.

I doubt Sacramento will be bad enough to land him the draft. If this kid is gonna be the next big thing, bad teams are gonna really tank for him, a la Denver and Cleveland in the Lebron sweepstakes.

Sacramento could be bad by then. You know how a team can have a freak losing season. If Indiana is a lottery team in 07, they'll fix the draft so Oden will go there probably. Expect Portland to be a possibility for a current losing team. Utah as well.

I could def see Utah. Atlanta will still be garbage by then.

Yea. I still see it to be a team who isn't losing next year to land the #1.

Since Oden is from Indiana, if Indiana ends up in the lottery, I could see the draft being "rigged" like Lebron w/ Cleveland (Ohio native). Except, if a big market team, aka the Knicks, is in the lottery.

Sterno really needs to open the draft room . What does he stand to gain if its not fixed.

He stands to gain disappointment. Stern cannot be uncrooked. He has to live off of being crooked or else nothing looks right. I cant stand that J !!!GREENIAC!!!.

C4, I agree the "draft room" should be open. Will it? No chance. Basketball, 1 player, example - a Duncan or an O'Neal, can carry a team.

And it should be any team. The results should not be done behind closed doors to favor other teams.

I wonder what is to stop a team from hiring a private investigator to see if these things are rigged. If there is proof that the Duncan lottery was rigged and I were the Celtics I would demand draft repartations or sue. And if I was the team that got screwed by such reparations I would sue. I think Stern would be out of a job if such a thing were proven.

I am sure there is a way to rig the draft. The machine, the balls, etc. Like the Ewing draft wasn't rigged?

I don't know about the thing being rigged. I mean, 13 GM's, or team representatives, are present during the ceremony, anxiously waiting for a miracle to happen. If there was anyone who'd want the truth to be reveiled, it'll be the team who ended up with the 2nd overall pick. Or the team who had the worst record that year, but ended up with the 4th pick (the worst the team can do).
We can speculate all we want, but if there was any indication that rigging was taking place, owners and GM's would have already been looking into this.

I'm sure they have been looking to find out but they won't find out. It is evident though. Duncan going to SA was totally fixed even though some say its not evident. I mean that was a previous really good team then when David Robinson went down that year, they got the best player in the game now. What are the chances unless its fixed? The celtics should have had Duncan in the palm of their hands.

Lebron going to Cleveland also was. I'm sure if the pacers make the lottery in 07, Oden goes to them. Stern needs to be out of a job. Hes horribly dishonest. He was also a lawyer. What more do you expect?
