I'm fully expecting one of you guys or girls to see this Avatar thing and report back at some point Yeah, Im kinda torn about this. The previews do nothing for me, but Cameron made my favorite movie of all time, so anything he does will get my attention. I live 2 blocks from where it's playing, so Im sure I'll check it out.

Wow Avatar was amazing...what I do suggest for those who have not watched it yet,
Try watch it in IMAX 3D..if your local cinema isnt an IMAX one, then when you do watch it in normal 3D, make sure you're in the middle and near the front..I made the mistake of taking the last remaining seats which were near the back and off to the side which kinda ruined the 3d effects for me...but it was still visually amazing..its like being force fed spoonful after spoonful of amazing visual effects.
Storyline on the other hand...meh..Predictable

Not sure if it would be as good in Blu-Ray as it was in 3d.

Saw Avatar yesterday. One of the most visually stunning movies I've ever seen. The designs of the jungle, the animals, the equipment, etc, was all stunning. Just incredible.
The 3D? For the first 10-15 minutes I thought it was very cool. For the rest of the movie, I was kind of annoyed by it. Definitely not a technology that will get me to go out and see a movie.
The story? It wasn't nearly as bad as some made it out to be. It's nearly 3 hours long, and never once was I bored. And man oh man, can Cameron still film action scenes. Dude needs to keep making movies.
the one thing that irked me about the movie was some of the character development, namely the two main bad guys. Way too ham-handed. If the bad guys would've been a bit more well-rounded, the story would've been much more compelling.

Although I'm not watching it my wife is watching Julie and Julia right now. It's like listening to nails on a chalk board but worse.
