I deserve a smite since I made a top 5 tv shows thread even though it was already made about a year ago by VI. I even put it in the wrong place.
That said I just watched Borat. FUNNIEST MOVIE EVER BY FAR. Complete genious. People will watch this movie 1000 years from now. Anyone on Earth could understand it. It should win multiple Oscars. I laughed so hard at one point I thought I might take a dump in my pants at the same time as throw up. It was about 300% as hard as I ever laughed. i had to close my eyes and imagine a pivotal sad scene from Star Wars to space out and recontrol my body.

I saw Borat a few weeks ago. It is definately one of the funniest movies Ive ever seen in theatres. I nearly threw up from laughter during the hotel wrestling scene.
The Departed was one of the best movies Ive seen this year. THe Descent, which came out this summer, was outstanding, as was Hard Candy.

I saw No Country for Old Men and it almost gave me nightmares. More like daymares. Also I just saw Dan in Real Life. i couldn't stop watching it

No Country was killer, in a year of good movies, it was my favorite in 07. Looking forward to the Cohen Bros. next movie, which is due out this fall.

I rented "cloverfield" a couple of weeks ago. Interesting, and somewhat entertaining.

I saw Cloverfield at the theaters, and I really liked it (because the visuals were so amazing). But I literally got nauseas watching it--I had to put my head down and just listen to what was going on. I would peak when something exciting was going on, and if I could, I would have watched the entire. But for half the movie, I sat with my head down. I get motion sickness rather easily

I thought Cloverfield was outstanding in the theatres. What a rush. And DM, I was shocked that i didnt motion sickness. I could barely watch the Blair Witch Project back in the day.

See, that's the funny thing. I saw Blair Witch and didn't get sick at all. I thought that movie was a bunch of manure. So I thought I wouldn't get sick watching Cloverfield, based on my Witch experience.
Boy was I wrong. But I did like the movie. It made me feel like I was right there. I felt the fear, I felt the adrenaline, and all that. I just wished I could have watched it all.

Man, the first time I saw it I thought it was great. I can't imagine it holds well with repeated viewings, but I dug it when I saw it. And I like the idea of some dudes making a movie that earns multi-millions for barely any cash. Quarantine, which is in the theatres now, is also shot in a shaky first person style. Didnt get sick at that on either. Pretty enjoyable movie.

I thought Cloverfield was Alien + Blair Witch Project. Blair Witch Project was a hoax. Cloverfield had some substance to the movie, plus the visuals were fantastic. I was disappointed the movie was average length, and made to make a sequel.

I really thought the visuals were incredible. I also liked how they kept you itching to see glimpses of the creature. I'd always be like, "whoa, was that it?!!" And how they'd be running in and out of buildings, never knowing if the creature would suddenly appear.
I thought the ending was corny, but hey, its hard to have a realistic ending about a huge creature roaming around civilization.

Another movie I recently watched and enjoyed was Iron Man. I thought Downy Jr. was the right man for the part. And the scene when he first started flying with his suit--man!! I got a rush from watching that. That's exactly the rush I felt when would dream I could fly.

You didnt like Blair Witch either, RR? Man, I thought it was spooky as all get out in the theatre. I should check it out again sometime. But like I said, I cant imagine it holding up to repeated viewings, or watching in on TV as opposed to the big screen.

Fresh, I was disappointed w/ BWP. I rented the movie. Personally, I like documentaries (even fake ones), and the theme had that "tales from the darkside" intro beginning. When the movie ended, I thought I was taken.
