Hey guys, here's a thread where you can post your comments and other draft talks.

One of the HS kids mentioned last year as a possible draftee was Aldridge, a big kid about 6'10" from Seagoville, TX. He went to the University of Texas. Was starting, doing fairly well. He is now out indefinitely with a non-contact hip injury which they are having trouble diagnosing.

That would be disappointing, especially if this hip injury comes back to haunt him later in his career.

Derren- Things are taking shape in Derren's Corner, looks good... Will you be making a mock draft in the spring? Just kinda wonder what the other teams might be looking for in the next draft.

I have an idea for you Derren for this section. I was thinking there could be a weekly/bi-weekly or even monthly "top-10" list of your picks for the Celtics. W/ 2 criteria - 1) the player has to be w/in reason of our draft spot(s)...in other words, Chris Paul wouldn't make the list; 2) the player has to have a reasonable chance of coming out this year...in other words,Rudy Gay wouldn'tmake the list because he is returning next year. Also, next to the players name could be what you like...limited to a sentence or 2. Any thoughts...

That's a good idea, RR. But are you thinking I should pick the top 10 I personally want? Or who the draft boards are saying we'll take?
C17--I'm not too much into making mock drafts for the entire league. I'm more devoted to predicting who we might take. I don't have the time to look into every team to decide where their weaknesses are and what they'll be trying to do in the draft. But I will put up a mock draft for the first round, though I doubt it'll be accurate. I will spend a lot of time figuring out who we'll take with our picks and for the rest of the mock, I'll just place players in terms of their stock.

I was thinking your top 10 picks for the Celtics, taking into consideration if the player is coming out, and our draft spot(s). Example -
Josh Boone #1 Inside Presence/ All around package

Well, I sort of do that already. But I'll use your idea and put it in a Top 5 category.
What I actually plan to do is start a thread on players who I scout. Then members can read and respond to them and stuff like that.
But keep those ideas coming. I want to make this board as poster-friendly as possible. I'll try to do what you guys want me to do.

Anyone catch Bogut tonight? He is going to make a solid pro. Probably the best college big man in the country. Im not sure if he'll be a superstar but a Sabonis/Seikely type he reminds me a lot of.

Exactly. He's going to make a solid pro. He's very proficient on the boards and his scoring is going to be a nice addition to any team. He's a solid shot blocker, but he'll get his fair share of being knocked on the ground. He won't shy away from contact, but he's just not built like a rock. He knows his limitations. He's a future starter in the NBA.

BC, I got to see a quick highlight of Danny Granger, as he did this acrobatic layup from under the basket and finished in the paint. I really can't say anything just from watching that, but what I did notice is that he has a good body for the NBA. He's lean, but he's not a twig. Got good length and spring in his legs. I can't wait to see him play.

man come draft time we all yearn to get him... Well, I don't know yet. I've been hearing some hype about Granger since last year, but I've made it my mission not to endorse players before I've gotten a chance to see them play first. He may very well be worthy of the hype, but I'm going to wait until I see him.

I circled my calendar to remind myself of the days when New Mexico will be televised. For those of you interested, they will be on ESPN on Feb 14th and the 28th (those days are Mondays).
I'm eager to put up a scouting report on this guy. He's quietly putting up solid numbers again and he could be a sleeper because he plays in a small conference.
