Udoka was with Jeff Green in Brooklyn this past year. He knows first hand what Jeff Green can and cannot do, as well as his hot and cold demeanor. Maybe Udoka knows how to coax the best out of Jeff Green. Hard pass. Hard hard pass. I'm still sore about losing Perkins for Green. I don't hate the guy or his game, and good for him that his career is still ongoing. I'm just sore that we gave up a key soul of the team for a guy who was never Celtic material.

Per Himmelsbach:
According to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, Rudy Gay and Patty Mills are in play from the Spurs, among former Celtics players Jeff Green, Avery Bradley and Kelly Olynyk.
I guess I'll have to trust Brad's judgement on these. Never cared much for Avery, Kelly or Jeff.
I like Mills, though. And if Rudy has anything left in the tank and isn't expensive, I'm ok with him.

I mean if Green would play on a vet min deal, sure, why not. Otherwise, meh.
I always did like KO and Bradley. I'd happily bring both of them back. Bradley would be a nice fit if they ran the offense through Big Al.

Brad had Jeff Green for a year and a half. I'm starting to think Brad doesn't learn from his mistakes.

Brad is interested in bringing IT back.
Ok, I'm beginning to worry about Brad mixing emotion into his decisions.
Is he interested in IT because he legitimately feels IT can still bring it? Or does he feel the organization did him wrong and now wants to make things right?

I don't know, but IT just dropped 65 on someone at a tournament in ATL.

Ball just agreed to a sign and trade to go to the Bulls. So maybe Smart will help us get Beal.

While all these moves are being made, Brad remains quiet. It's clear we are not spending money, and we're angling to have cap flexibility next summer.
Here's my take:
Beal and Tatum are close -- I'm confident they have talked about the future, and Beal knows BOS has the brighter future.
So this season is about Tatum and Brown taking the next step, and the young guys (Rob, Romeo, Nesmith, Pritch, Hauser and maybe Yam) flashing their potential and working their way to playing time.
The team adjusts to Coach Udoka, and Udoka and his staff learns the team's strengths and weaknesses.
And then when Beal comes over, the team will be ready to hit the ground running.

We're waiting for the 2nd tier free agents.
Said Otto Porter and Patti Mills are targets.

Smart looking for 4/80 in free agency next summer.

At some point (this summer, before the trade deadline, next summer)
-sign and trade Smart to 4/80 to WAS for Beal -add draft picks (swaps if need be) -let them choose a combination of young players
If we can trade for Beal this summer or during the season, we'll have his bird rights and can re-sign him to a larger contract. That means Brad will need to out the pressure on WAS to trade him before next summer.

Smart looking for 4/80 in free agency next summer. No way in hell that clown deserves that kind of money.
