A number of high caliber players are becoming available. Ben Simmons' name is being circulated, as is Damian Lillard's. And now Brian Windhorst is saying Donovan Mitchell wants out of Utah.
Lots of names to keep an eye out for.

I wonder what Damon Stoudemire brings to the table? Offensive coach? Player development?

Would Udoka want to recruit LaMarcus Aldridge again?
He's 35 but still knows how to score. We aren't going to spend much because of our cap situation, but Aldridge is probably looking to chase for a ring than make a lot of money.
He could re-sign with the Nets, who are presently much closer to a ring than we are -- but Udoka might know the right words to say (again).

Whoever is available, I hope Brad doesn't empty the team to trade for one of them. I know the asking price for any of them is likely to be high. I don't think we need another star. I think we need to work more on continuity and the complementary pieces to get the best out of our 2 All Stars that we have. Keep the core together and if anything, replace the fringe players like Tremont and Carsen with vets who know how to play to give us more depth.
Resign Fornier, keep this core together, maybe sign a vet or two. Let Romeo and Nesmith improve for one more year and see how they do. Most importantly, stay healthy.

I am on the opposite side than you are. I don't think this team has the talent to compete even if healthy as currently constructed. As I have said a million times on here, if Smart is anything more than in the "Tony Allen" role, then we are nowhere near talented enough to compete. Besides the continuity has already been broken up by trading Kemba. Right now we don't have a legit PG or Center on this team to go along with no bench what so ever. This roster needs a major influx of talent if they want to be in the top four of the East come playoff time.

I'm reminded by the fact that it took Jordan 6-7 years before his 1st championship. So he was older than Tatum/Brown when he actually got over the hump. I still think we're one piece away BUT also a major coaching shift away from contending. That iso-ball !!!GREENIAC!!! has to stop and Udoka might be the guy who puts his foot down on that. Also if we don't trade any of our draft picks, I'd like to see this front office take a reach on raw gems and international players. Whatever our scouting department has done in the past...just hasn't worked for the late rounds. I know there isn't a Jokic or Siakam that falls into your lap every day, but reaching seems better than the constant churn of college "veterans".

ESPN has their "way too early" take on the 21-22 season and they have us at [HASH]13 to win it all - which seems about right to me. I think we have a couple of very nice pieces, but aren't in the upper echelon of teams.
Suppose we had pulled off the "boatload of picks for Jrue" trade that MIL did, and that JB had been healthy. How far might we have gone in this years playoffs? If the answer is "pretty far" then we need to consider doing the same thing. Our picks over the next bunch of years are likely to be no better than mid-first round, so if we could get a guy like Holiday, who is signed for several years, it's almost a no-brainer isn't it?

Yes it is a no brainier to get a legit third all star player, hopefully at the PG position.

Dino Radja says hello 😊 Hopefully we'll get some good contribution from Yam Madar. With Udoka on board, I think we will see more international flavor on the roster. The Spurs were chalk full of them, and they were instrumental to the Spurs success, even if mostly role players.
