It's possible but I mostly think the Hornets swept in and either Indy was like "How much?! Ha. No" or GH already knew he couldn't get anything like that in Indy and said "bye" Apparently GH held all the cards all along and nobody knew. This is a great example of why the Hornets are a horrible team. They let Kemba go and a year later sign an older and more broken down player to more money. Yeah, I think all those scenarios are in play. So Hayward appears to be the guy who slapped Danny’s face, spit at Pritchard, and shook hands with the man who will give him the most money. Not what I thought Hayward would do.

I'm seeing that the Hornets need help from the Celtics to do this so the Celtics can still get something. The Hornets had about 20mill of space. They are going to waive Nic Batum and stretch out his 27 mill over 3 years, which gets them to about 9. So there's still a million to go. So they could send something like ...idk...a first rounder or two and Vernon Carey or maybe if Ainge likes some of their younger guys they could save money and we could bring it into our space. They have Malik Monk, Pj Washington, and Miles Bridges. I'd like PJ, but they'd probably say no. Miles is ok. Miles and a first....I wouldn't cry about that. I doubt they give us anything of value — PJ Washington and Miles would be nice, but I won’t hold my breath (but then again, this is the Charlotte Hornets, so you never know).

Sounds like CHA is going to sign Hayward outright, without needing to do a sign and trade.
We’ve lost Hayward for nothing. Thanks a lot, Gordon.

Actually, this could turn out to be a very good thing for us.
We are clear underdogs now, no one will give us a winning chance at the title — and that’s what will bring out the fight in Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum!! Put some desperation on them and watch them fight.
The fire is lit, they have something to prove, a huge chip is on their shoulders.
Brad has something to prove too, that he’s not overrated.
We are going to be a huge surprise this season.

I am also reading the Hornets won't need to do much. These teams worked together last year on a creative Rozier for Kemba trade so they may come up with something, but the Hornets have a ton of leverage. It will be fun to watch him ruin the Hornets next

All they can offer is the MLE, right?

Yeah.
It seems we are at the top of his list.
He can be that wily veteran big, ala PJ Brown.

Milsap chose to keep his family in Denver.
Who’s next?

Milsap chose to keep his family in Denver. Who’s next? There seems to be a decent amount of guys out there, but maybe not for the MLE. Maybe Baynes. Melo could be a surprisingly good locker room guy. Cause if anything goes down he won't snitch.

We still need to see how what our roster ends up as but as of now we are a mid to lower seed in the East. Kemba still has health issues, Tatum is sift, Brown doesn't seem to have any alpha in him and Smart is one of the dumbest players in the league and will see this as an ok to brick even more shorts.

We do have talent. We have a young 22 year old on the verge of being All-NBA, a just made 24 year old who’s making big strides and this year averaged 20 ppg, and Kemba Walker. Both Jaylen and Tatum are trending the right direction, and are looking to take the next step. We’re surrounding them with solid, but unspectacular, players who fill their roles. Crossing fingers, but Nesmith and Pritchard are the perimeter threats we’ve been missing. GWill and RWill are the interior muscle and high flyer on defense. Smart and Theis are solid and proven. Now, everyone has to be on the same page and do their part for this team to be a well oiled machine. But like Toronto a couple of years ago, it is possible for a disciplined team with lots of role players to win it all. That’s what I’m hoping and thinking we’ll be.

Fans are calling for Danny’s head. What was he supposed to do, take back players he didn’t want just because Pritchard offered them?
Myles Turner is not the final piece to the puzzle — if he was, then the Pacers wouldn’t have been forcing us to take him.
I like McDermott, but he certainly needs help defensively.
And why couldn’t Pritchard bend and include TJ Warren? Did I miss seeing his name on an All-Star roster? Is he that untouchable? Of course not. Danny didn’t want to get stuck with players he didn’t think would be a fit.

Would be funny and neat if Baynes and IT were brought back and they helped ignite the magic of 2018’s playoff run.
