Wyc was interviewed by Sherrod today, and the last bit, Sherrod asked Wyc if we are done making moves for the summer. Wyc quickly replied that he spoke with Ainge (sounded like it was very recent) and was told by Danny he’s still working the phones.
Not sure what else Ainge can do with free agency because we have only a bit of cash remaining (like 1+ mil, which is nothing considering that’s how much we’re paying our second round lick Carsen Edwards).
Maybe a trade is in the works?

I think the most likely trade would be with OKC for Adams. They are only looking for picks and probably one player with the most likely candidates being Smart or Brown. Have heard Hayward's name in rumors too, but that doesn't make sense unless they flop him too.
It makes sense since Adams and Kanter have played well together while in OKC.

I think I read that Ainge was trying to figure out a way to carve out a full MLE, so we could add one more quality piece, but I think presumably we'd have to send a first rounder with it. That seems difficult to me. I would think a team would need cap space for that, or at least space under the luxury cap. Then you're sending a cost controlled piece for a one or two year contract. Tough to say

Like if we got a first for Semi O or maybe a 2nd for Brad Wanamaker or something then maybe it's a slam dunk

Jevonte Green (who played well for our summer league squad) is getting a paryially guaranteed contract ftom us. He’ll be there for training camp.

With Anthony Davis openly stating he’s not ready to say he’s signing long term with the Lakers (who knows, he might not like playing with Lebron), it leaves a possibility that might Ainge be keeping his options open for a possible trade at the deadline, or maybe a sign and trade next summer (when AD becomes a free agent)?
This thought is in the back of my mind. Maybe this is why Ainge seems to be content for the time being with our Center situation, which is a mashup of Kanter and a bunch of young and unproven guys (Lob Williams, Theis, Poirier).

With the league moving away from the Center position, Jalen Rose made a statement that Boston is getting overlooked by everyone in the East because as he stated Boston has the best collection of talent in the backcourt in the conference. He stated that nobody in the East can match up with Kemba, Jason, Jaylen, Gordon, and Marcus.
He may be on to something as GSW has won three championships with a competent center.

I'm hopeful that we have a chance. Does anyone really expect Embiid to play a full season or be healthy in the playoffs? When one of your "stars" is a guy who can't shoot outside of a floater, then I wouldn't be so quick to claim them the king of any conference. Rose did say he thought the Sixers were built for the Playoffs instead of the regular season, but the Sixers have as big of weakness of any other team. Can't say we don't have a fighting chance in this conference.

And we may be able to add Romeo Langford's name to that bunch. I got hopes for this kid.

Can't say we don't have a fighting chance in this conference. Great points. Embiid is an injury risk every year (maybe even career ending at some point), Horford's age can catch up to him quickly (especially his creaking knee's), and they lost their best shot creator down the stretch of last season (Butler) and their best perimeter threat (Redick). Even TJ McConnell was an underrated loss. That leaves them with a short bench.

I think Milwaukee is the team to beat and I'm not even ruling out the Raptors yet

Max Strus officially signs a two-way contract with us.
Didn’t really light up summer league (mainly because Carsen owned the spotlight), but Strus has a quick trigger, smooth mechanics and confidence. He also has a thick upper body.
If I’m thinking outside the box, I’d groom Max to be a PF — undersized but strong enough for the position, and can easily draw his man out to the perimeter with his shooting.

Now it’s gotten personal — stealing our players from under our noses. We better destroy the Sixers this year.
