Get ready for another exciting (or maddening, depends on how you view rumors) summer of constant peeks on your phone, and computer at home (or work) to catch the latest word and tidbit on who may be coming to Boston.
It’s already started, with talks that Kyrie might be joining up with Lebron in LA. Or if you believe Steven A. Smith, it’s 95% guarantee that Kyrie and Durant meet up in New York.
Also talks that Anthony Davis might be willing to come here even if Kyrie jumps ship.

I'll watch the draft lottery, read too many mock drafts, watch the draft itself, and wait for Danny to make his move for AD. For me, anything more than that isn't good for my sanity. Aside from what's good for the C's, I hope Smith is as wrong as possible as often as possible. What a blowhard!

Per our own Kendrick Perkins (once a Celtic, always a Celtic), as he tells it to Andy Kauffman, both Durant and Davis wouldn’t mind playing for us. I don’t know about you, but I don’t see Perk as a guy who says things for click bait. And Perk played with both of them during his career so he has a relationship with them.

Yeah, I'd take Perk's word on things. I wonder what KD is looking for. Doesn't need money. Has won both personal and team honors. Really the only thing he hasn't done is lead a team that hadn't already won it to a title.

He knows that Houston is going to be a big hurdle next year (as long as Chris Paul can still play at a high level), and teams like POR, DEN and even the Clippers are chomping at the bit. He'll need to go to the East. Maybe Philly (who'll have money), maybe Toronto (if Kawhi stays)? Milwaukee? I seriously doubt New York. Even if Kyrie pairs up with him there, and they draft Zion, they'll still need other really good players filling out the roster. I still think if it works out, we make the most sense.

I think KD is after something along the lines of a stamp in his career. Also, I am not concerned about NYN, because the last time they had cap space it turned into Amare, and Carmelo.

I think the lure of the big market teams is a thing of the past. It's more about a players' brand now (Russell Westbrook has brand name, even in Oklahoma City).
If players are serious about winning championships, and knowing they'll be in a good situation, they'll go where it makes the most sense -- whether it's a small market like Milwaukee, or somewhere big like Los Angeles.

I keep on hearing that Kyrie has made up with LeFlop, but won't go back to him. It is either in NY with KD or in Boston with AD.

Just read on Celticsblog that Al may opt out and is willing to take a pay cut if we give him two more years. So instead of having one year at 30M, he could take 3 years at 45M which gives us more room. That is great for both sides and is closer to his market value.

Yeah, that would help us have more cap room to make things happen. Wonder if Hayward can / will rework his contract too?
Horford has stated that he'd like to be back here. I'm sure he'd like to win a title before his career is over.
Hmmmm…. that's got me thinking. Why would Horford want to rework his contract, commit his final years of his prime (which is already on the backside) to playing here if our chances to win a title in the next few years aren't great?
It'd make sense only if Ainge has a plan in place to bring in superstar players. That's why Horford would stay long term, make less per year, and not jump to a contender.

It said in the article that he would give up the $$$ that he would make next year to add two more years of security. So he is basically saying that he wants to end his career as a Celtic and that tells me that he thinks we have at least a three year window to win at least one title.
I am with you on Hayward, I wish he would shave about 10M off of his contract to help the team due to his uselessness in the first half of his contract due to the injury which of course isn't his fault. But that won't happen until after next season and I would like to do the same thing that Horford wants to do, add years at a discount.

This is probably Horford’s last meaningful run at a title, and up to this point he’s been close but no cigar. He wouldn’t stay for loyalty sake, as he probably wouldn’t have left Atlanta if that were the case. I’d bet Ainge has told him the plans this summer, and maybe even that there’s a gentlemen’s agreement for certain players to join the team, and that has excited Horford to remain here and restructure his contract to help make it work.

Does anyone really think the Lakers trade package is good? Ball, Ingram, Kuzma and the 4th pick?
Ball cannot shoot. Ingram isn’t anythjng special. Kuzma is the only one who can consistently do damage. The 4th pick isn’t special (you are choosing between RJ Barrett, DeAndre Hunter, Jarrett Culver and a list of other potential guys who may go 4th — meaning not a whole lot of difference between the 4th pick and the 10th pick).
We can offer (not necessarily what I want to offer) Tatum, Brown, Smart, Rozier (sign and trade), Robert Williams (really high potential guy), and draft picks.

So you take the same guys who missed the playoffs with LeBron, team them with Zion and expect what exactly? Not impressed with the Lakers young guys.
