This also changes what Kyrie planned to do, if it’s true he’s actually, seriously considering the Knicks and the Nets.
More likely than not, I’d think Kyrie now watches very carefully where Anthony Davis is likely to go.

It's been a while since we last posted on this thread. We now know that AD is going to sign with the Lakers, and that Kyrie doesn't like Boston, some of its players, its head coach, its GM, and Horford is possibly seeking more money elsewhere.
In addition to this, there's much chatter that we're targeting Kemba Walker.
Question -- if Kemba is a target, do you feel he's the biggest fish we're catching this summer, or is Ainge aiming for an even bigger fish?

I feel bad for the Hornets. You either give Kemba his money and essentially sign yourself to be a borderline 8th seed for the foreseeable future or you let him go for nothing and be a lottery team for the future. Jordan is definitely not the GOAT of management.
I gotta assume Danny is looking at everyone and anyone except probably Kyrie. I don't think Boston is a destination players force their way to, unfortunately. So I wouldn't expect anything bigger than Kemba/Vucevic unless Horford has a change of heart.

Even worse, your GM is Michael Jordan. Kwame Brown, Adam Morrison, and Michael Kidd-G. Ouch.

Just saw that the Celtics are interested in Enes Kanter. Maybe they should just post that the Celtics are interested in all of the decent free agent centers and let it go at that.

The question to me is how much money do they want. These guys aren't max guys and neither was Horford. They aren't guys that I think are worth going over the cap for either. The problem as I understand it is you essentially HAVE to pay some guys big money, because if you do you can go over the cap later to sign your own guys (Tatum, Jaylen, maybe Langford). Our own guys will eventually take us over the cap anyway so you need to get guys paid now so you will have a large payroll. If you don't have a large payroll you won't be able to ever trade for great players, and assemble a team with 3 or 4 or 5 highly paid players. The NBA is sorta ridiculous. Kemba is an all star who played college ball in the area. There's not much shame with showing him the money. Vuc is also very good. I think if you could send Rozier to the Rockets in a sign and trade for Capela that could be really really good. I wouldn't mind making a very large offer to Brogdon and force the Bucks to spend money on their team. That would mean having to give big contracts to Middleton and Brodgon just one year before Giannis. I mean if you want to beat us....guess what.....you have to pay for that. If Kyrie goes to Brooklyn I'd have to consider an offer on DeAngelp Russell.

It is being reported by "sources" in the league that Boston is now the frontrunner for Kemba. If so I hope he takes less so we can go after a good big man and not a bunch of retreads.

Hopefully he’ll come cheaper than expected, and hopefully he is totally into the concept of team is greater than me. It does appear we’re in the driver’s seat. Charlotte can offer the most money, but I’m sure Kemba realizes that if he stays there, he’s not contending.

Even worse, your GM is Michael Jordan. Kwame Brown, Adam Morrison, and Michael Kidd-G. Ouch. I actually looked up his draft history post-Kemba and it's not pretty 2011 #9 Kemba Walker 2011 #19 Tobias Harris (traded to MIL) 2012 #2 Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 2013 #4 Cody Zeller 2014 #9 Noah Vonleh 2014 #24 Shabazz Napier (traded to Miami) 2015 #9 Frank Kaminsky 2016 #22 Malachi Richardson (traded to Sac) 2017 #11 Malik Monk 2018 #11 Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (traded to Clippers) Even when they picked right (Tobias Harris, Shai) they ended up trading them on draft night. When looking at some of these years, they honestly were not very impressive. However, the two big years they really missed on were 2012 and 2013 when they had the #2 and #4 pick and there were some great players in the draft. The Greek Freek (#15 in 2013), Bradley Beal (#3 in 2012), Damian Lillard (#6 in 2012), Drummond (#9 in 2012).

They are one of many examples of how a team should NOT he run. Forever in mediocracy because they draft poorly (because they never are bad enough to secure a top 3 draft pick), and they sign the wrong players to big contracts.

Adam Himmelsbach believes that if we sign Kemba, then Jaylen is going to be traded for a big.
Being there are still talks about us targeting Capela, this might go hand in hand.

Just read a fact that only one person has shot over 400 times each year over the past three years and had an overall shooting percentage under 40% and that man's name is Terry Rozier.

I read something today, paraphrased "I will not miss Rozier's fast break pull up 3-point bricks." 😂😂 To his credit, Rozier did excite us at times. He’s a good rebounding guard (especially at his height), but every other part of his game is too unpredictable. Hearing New York is interested in him.
