I get the feeling there is a desperation to bring in stars right away because Horford is after all signed to a deal in his prime...if we wait for Brown and Tatum, you just never know how quickly a player can decline.. Danny is building 2 teams at one time. He's got the young guns who will be playing off the bench if we get a couple of stars this offseason. The stars and vets are in the win now team. I like the idea of signing them for 3 years and when their contracts are up, the young guys who were playing off the bench will be ready to take over as starters and be stars themselves. Seems like a good plan.

With PG13 in OKC, Danny has to put all his effort into trying to entice Hayward to Boston. Herald reported that Celtics were going to place the midnight call to Hayward and will meet with him on Sunday. Hayward will meet with the Heat on Saturday and the Jazz on Monday.
The Heat can offer the weather and the fact that Florida doesn't have state income tax. On the other hand they missed the playoffs. If Hayward is listening to ESPN, they were pushing Miami pretty hard. Wouldn't doubt that snake Pat Riley paid them off.
The Celtics can offer Brad Stevens and that relationship that they had at Butler. The Celtics made the ECF and should make them again in a weaker Eastern Conference this year. The West is stacked and will be a more difficult road to the WCF. The Celtics have the storied history and have a great fanbase.
The Jazz offer more stability and he reportedly likes Utah. He has gotten letters from Jazz fans and they have gone all in with billboards and even Danny's son is asking him to stay.
I just don't know if he will come here or not. Last year I really wanted Horford and he chose Boston. This year I really want Hayward. He is meeting with the Celtics on my birthday and maybe the Celtics will give me Hayward for a birthday present. Please................

My pitch to Hayward starts like this..."We're not gonna talk about money. You're a max. There's nothing to talk about with money. Although here are some guys to tell you about the endorsements you can get playing here when you win OH LOOK IT'S LARRY BIRD WHO DOESN'T WORK IN INDIANA ANY MORE.....hey another Indiana guy. So Larry how do endorsements work when you win rings in Boston? That good huh. So in terms of winning in Boston... OH MY GOD IT'S BILL RUSSELL! Wow that's a lot of rings.
Anyway....oh hey. It's Maria Menuous with sandwiches from Fanueil Hall. How did you know we like gyros? Oh hey look. It's Matt Damon and Ben Affleck with Sam Adams beer.
By the way. Do you need a baby sitter? You're a family man right? Let me call a baby sitter for you. Hold on.....Hey....Big Papi. Can you watch Gordon's kids for the day so his wife can go shopping out and about? What do you mean she doesn't know the way around? We already took care of that. Yeah James Taylor and Steven Tyler are going to drive. Yeah let James drive in the country side. Let Steve handle the city.
Can't go wrong with a guy named Papi for a baby sitter.
Anyway we just want to close with this video......that's you missing the final shot in the tourney. You're gonna make it this time. YOU are getting the final shot. We've already drawn it up. We're gonna force a switch on Stephen Curry and drill the winning shot in his eye. You're gonna be an immortal here.

From Kevin O'Connor Three league sources sense the current favorite for Gordon Hayward is Miami. Reasons: better lifestyle, Spoelstra, "feature scoring role."
I don't think Spoelstra over Stevens is logical. Lifestyle and weather could be and maybe feature scoring role. But he would have a featured scoring role in Boston also. Stevens should win over Spoelsta though.

The weather in Miami? Is that what white guys from Indiana talk about? Is that their preference? God you couldn't drag me there. I'd rather play in the Baltics.

So would Porzingis right now, I think.
I think the talk will be about how Brad can help PH continue to improve, how Brad sees using him, and the future of the team trending toward the top of the EC.

Isaiah Thomas is in Boston to be at the meeting with Hayward. Horford is also in Boston.

According to Mark Murphy: Celtics will keep their meeting with Gordon Hayward relatively small tomorrow, with IT, Horford, Brad Stevens, Danny Ainge and ownership.

I should have included a wink in my post. I was referring to Crowder's less than thrilled reaction to the Boston crowd's love for Hayward last season.
I also read that Hayward, on Indy native, can't stand Tom Brady, so he won't be there either.

I don't understand the Heat. Even with Hayward, they will come relatively short of getting out of the East. Even with Hayward, they will not be good enough to beat us; let alone the Cavs.
They ought to be bottoming out and attacking the draft.
