I just read an article on NESN that says that people in Paul George's camp feel that the Celtics would be a great fit for him. I know he probably won't be able to pick his landing spot because the Pacers will pick the package that they like the best, but maybe he can influence things. And if they feel he's a good fit maybe he'll be interested in an extension to stay long time. nesn.com/2017/06/nba-rumors-paul-georges-camp-believes-celtics-would-be-great-fit/

I'm excited for this happen, but won't believe it till it actually happens. Last summer, it felt for sure Durant was going to be a Celtic -- but he didn't choose us.

Yeah, things would be interesting if it did happen. But the bench would be very thin should we get both. Would have to depend on rookies and vet min contracts to fill it and produce.

Say we lose Bradley and Crowder -- we are basically replacing them with Hayward and George. Even if we lose Rozier, it's not like we were heavily reliant upon him anyways. So as far as the top 7 players on our team, we actually come out better.
But like you said, our bench will be thin, because if we sign these 2 big salaried players, we wouldn't be able to afford Amir and Olynyk and Jerebko. They'd have to return on very cheap new contracts if they'd like to remain here.
In their places, we'd have Zizic, Theis and Tatum -- ooooh, that's scary because we just don't know what they'll be able to do.

I don't think Amir, KO or Jerebko are going to be here anyway, with Jerebko on short money maybe being the most likely.

I'm done with Olynyk, so I don't mind if he doesn't come back. Amir could be a nice big body off the bench (maybe as the 4th or 5th big man on the depth chart). I don't know if he'll come back on a cheap contract.
Jerebko has some moments, and I like that he's an energy guy. If he's back for cheap, I'll welcome him. But more than that, I'm hoping Daniel Theis surprises us all and right away starts playing at a level comparable to Jerebko's.

I think a bench with Tatum, Jaylen, Oyeje, Smart, etc could be pretty good.

I think a bench with Tatum, Jaylen, Oyeje, Smart, etc could be pretty good. Potentially good; we just don't know because of inexperience. But in time, yeah I like those guys.

Get it done! Build the big 4 roster and work on using the vet min for the rest of the bench. I believe we would be in same spot back in 08 were the bench got depleted. As long as you have the a good nucleus, rest of the roster will fill itself out.
If we can manage to maintain both Tatum/Brown in the process, this trade will be a win for the Celtics.

Adam Kaufman Verified account @adammkaufman Follow More If [HASH]Celtics add PG & Hayward, they join IT/Horford/Brown/Tatum/Zizic/maybe Smart. Likely no Bradley/Crowder/Olynyk/Rozier/Zeller. Hard math.

Hard math. Sounds like Zizic is heading straight to the NBA and not the D-League. I was wondering about that.

I am good at adding, and subtracting. Anyone know how this would fit salary cap wise?

I get the feeling there is a desperation to bring in stars right away because Horford is after all signed to a deal in his prime...if we wait for Brown and Tatum, you just never know how quickly a player can decline..
