Posting this off of Celticslife: www.celticslife.com/2017/07/more-changes-coming-to-celtics-coaching.htmlWe're adding Scott Morrison to Brad's staff. He had a terrific coaching tenure at Maine with the Red Claws (our D-League affiliate). He was 95 - 55. I wonder in what ways he'll add and contribute to the coaching staff? Is he good at improving players' skills?

Somehow I missed it, but I guess the NBA regular season is starting two weeks earlier this year, in mid-October, so our long wait will be a little shorter. I can't wait to see the guys back on the court!

Ever since his days suiting up at Kansas, I've wanted Thomas Robinson. For whatever reason, in spite of his skills, he hasn't been able to stick with a team -- in 5 years in the league, he's played for 6 teams. I don't think it's physical (because this guy is gifted physically). Maybe mental? Like he has a hard time grasping the plays and missing his assignments, and not doing what he's supposed to do?
He's still only 25, so if he can come cheaply, I don't mind using a deep roster spot on him, and hoping Brad can bring out the hidden beast in Thomas Robinson.
He will be working out (trying out) for us soon.

Thomas Robinson worked out for the Celtics today according to Woj.
It appears that the Celtics are proceeding like the trade is final. If the trade doesn't go through, then no use working out an additional player.

If the trade doesn't go through, then no use working out an additional player. Also, it would appear that we are backfilling for Zizic -- meaning, this seems to be an anticipatory move that the trade will go through, and that Zizic will leave us short manned up front.

From ESPN: In 48 games for the Lakers last season, Robinson, the No. 5 pick in the 2012 draft, posted a total rebound rate of 22.5 percent, including grabbing 30.4 percent of all available defensive rebounds while on the court. For comparison, since-departed Kelly Olynyk led Boston last season with a total rebound rate of 13.1 percent while grabbing a team-best 20.7 percent of defensive caroms.
In an interview with HoopsHype at the start of free agency in July, Robinson said, "Given the opportunity, I could easily be among the top 10 rebounders in the league. Easily."
All right. I'm intrigued.

In his final season at Kansas, I believe he averaged over 11 boards per game. And he's got smooth post moves too. He's got tools -- and I think Brad can make another reclamation project happen.
