Nader signs a 4 year, 6 mil deal with us. We're pretty set at the 3/4, so I don't know if he'll get much playing time. But I like Nader. Value contract. He played well in the d-league last year.

Gerald Green was renounced, so he'll no longer be with us.
I don't think Demetrius Jackson will make the cut.

The Celtics have until tomorrow 7/15 to waive Jackson or his contract becomes fully guaranteed so if he is going to be cut, it is going to be very soon. They renounced Gerald but as long as he hasn't signed with anyone else, since he was on a vet min contract and would be again, they can still resign him. So he may or may not be no longer with us

3rd times a charm, Gerald!
I'd be surprised if Demetrius makes the team. He can only play the PG position, and he's not competent at setting guys up. His dribbling is not good enough either. His jumper is not bad though.

The Celtics are revamping their sports science and training operation, and, in addition to strength coach Bryan Doo choosing to forego an altered role, the club is parting ways with longtime trainer Ed Lacerte.
Bryan Doo was the strength and fitness trainer for 14 years and Ed Lacerte was with the team for 30 years and has won several awards for being tops in his field. I wonder what they are going to do to revamp the training for the team.

Celtics to waive Demetrius Jackson, avoid paying his $650,000 guarantee. His initial indication is he'll likely not play in SL game tonight.

The Celtics are planning to sign rookie forward Semi Ojeleye to a four-year deal, first two years guaranteed, per league source.
With Nader, Yabusele, Ojeleye, Theis, Celtic roster will be at 15. Jabari Bird possible for a 2-way contract or simple assignment to Maine.

If anyone is curious on order of operations for BOS: They will sign Semi Ojeleye using cap space. That is only way he can get a 4 year deal.
That along with Nader signing will use up rest of BOS cap space. They will then sign Baynes using Room Exception & Theis using Min Exception

Thanks for that. I know that Perk was (and still is) one of the hardest workers in the NBA because of what people that played with him have had to say. Perk is in great shape and is trying to catch on with a team now. Some team with young bigs should give him a contract because he's worth it as a mentor for young bigs. I know that they are going away from traditional centers like Perk but I really hope someone gives him a contract because the league is better with him in it. It's awesome to hear that Zizic is Perk like in his work ethic because that means he is going to make it and he's going to be ready for training camp. No doubt about it.

Now begins the hardest part of the year. Two and a half months of very little Celtic news until training camp approaches. Unless Danny makes a trade, which is always a possibility.

This is when i wish these various fans sports blogs can have access to team's practice facilities, or even let folks video players and see how they practice and train on the offseason. Fans like us would greatly appreciate it. For instance, I'd love to watch an hour of Tatum working on his various iso moves. Or spend an hour as someone coaches Yabusele on the finer nuances of boxing out.

That would be great, Derren! I'd love to see clips from their summer workouts etc. I wish they would keep up on progress of the players etc. It's going to be a looooonnnnng time till October!

It was such a surprise to see that they are parting ways with Bryan Doo and Eddie Lacerte. Lacerte, especially is the top of his field. I'm wondering if they are thinking that the old ways of doing things aren't working any more. We did have a lot of injuries last season. I read that they hired Johann Bilsborough two years ago as the team’s director of sports science. He formerly worked with rugby and Aussie rules football teams in his native Australia. I wonder if they think that will be better to prevent more injuries.

This is out of my realm of knowledge; not sure how to quantify how much Lacerte and Doo meant to the team, and I don't know how much of an impact new sports science will have going forward.
