I think that type of source and rumor is more about how Gasol is the perfect type of big for us more so than it being a realistic chance of occurring when you consider the contract.

It would have to be Crowder and Bradley as the centerpieces in exchange for Gasol - otherwise the salaries don't match up adequately. I can understand both, as Crowder is somewhat redundant and Bradley is heading into his final year and may be deemed too expensive to resign. Still not sure I like it though. Gasol is well-rounded but his rebounding numbers aren't great.

Gasol is such a monster on defense. I'd argue the best defensive big in the league right now. Dude is a master of always being in the right place. And now he's shooting 39% from 3. The only thing that scares me is his age and injury history,

Even without gaudy blocked shots and rebounding numbers, he's one of the best big man defenders in the game. Knows where to be and how to counter the plays teams are trying to run.

So are you guys on board if it's Gasol for Crowder and Bradley (plus deep bench players)?

Injuries and Age is what holds me back. I think Gasol is perfect for us, secretly a beast on defense and gives us that versatility on offense (passing, scoring, etc.) Giving up Crowder and Bradley is well worth it as I don't see them being a part of anything as their positions are well stocked and they're, quite frankly, not special players. I just wish Gasol was like 2 years younger and a little more durable and I'd be stoked. Even still, I'd be good with that trade if Danny pulls the trigger. I still don't think anything will happen as I'm not sure the math adds up as we need to get rid of Crowder and other contracts to make room for Hayward. I don't think adding Gasol will make juggling the cap any easier.

Hopefully, we don't have to give up any real draft assets to get him on board.

Clips, looking to bolster wing after Redick departure/Crawford trade, have engaged Grizzlies in potential s/t for Tony Allen, per source.
If Clips can get TA perhaps that opens the way for the for Gasol to be traded also.

Basically, we'd have to gut most (all) of our backcourt depth. Maybe say goodbye to all of Bradley, Smart, Rozier, and Crowder.

Do we get any MLE per say we do get Gasol? Definitely would need some type of PG depth to add if we ended loses both backup/3rd string PG on the roster. I can see Jaylen and Gordo take quite of few minutes at the SG spot to accommodate the missing playing we lose in AB/Smart. At some point, we have to cash in those expiring contracts as we could be losing smart/AB for nothing in the upcoming season.

We get the cap exception, which is around 1/2 of the MLE (roughly 4.5 mill).

I also don't see us losing all three of Bradley, Smart and Rozier. Maybe two, plus Crowder. But I do think we will see Brown at SG if Bradley is traded.
