Ok, that's actually a slight relief. I wasn't totally onboard with Jimmy coming here. Now we won't have to wonder.

That doesn't sound like a lot for Jimmy Butler.

That doesn't sound like a lot for Jimmy Butler. I disagree. I think it's a decent overpay. For us that's 3rd pick, Smart, and Jaylen. I'm not doing that

I guess I don't see much in Lavine and Dunn. At least Smart is an elite (or pretty darn close) defender. And Jaylen's upside is greater than Dunn's.
Plus Chicago had to give up their 16th pick, along with Jimmy?

I think that's a pretty lopsided trade, but I guess it's better than nothing?

I think Minny fleeced the Bulls there. They add Butler and still get the 16th pick. They're taking that next step and might finally be a serious playoff team. For the Bulls, you get a couple previous lottery picks, but are they really that great? I liked Lavine, but he's coming off a serious injury and I don't see much potential for Dunn. I guess time will tell. I'm surprised they had to give up their own pick and Butler to get that deal done.

I think that trade makes way way more sense for Minny than for us

Yeah, same here. CHI is looking pretty barren right now.

And Dunn was abit of a bust so far after an outstanding summer league

Danny said that they didn't have any talks with Chicago yesterday about trading Butler. Last time they talked they wanted too much and so they didn't approach them.
I get the feeling they are going all in on Hayward and will take it from there.

If we can land Hayward, I think that opens up the possibility of us pursuing other big names (George, Griffin, etc).

I read today that Paul George is interested in playing with his home town friend Gordon Hayward. So maybe..... Oh, wow! I didn't know they had a connection! Now I can see why Ainge is going after him -- he must be getting the feeling that George can be convinced to stay if Hayward is here and we're close to contending. I'd offer both Bradley and Crowder, along with up to 2 future lottery picks. Bradley is going to cost us too much, and Crowder becomes expendable because Jaylen and Jayson play his position (and Ojeleye is basically what Crowder is).
