In the words of the immortal Al Bundy, "Lets rock".
With nearly 4 hours remaining until the draft begins, lots of talk circling of moves we may, or may not be, involved in with other teams. Sully could be going, Marcus Smart may be packing his bags, and as Danny has stated, no one is untouchable. At the right price, any player on the team can be had. League executives have said Danny has been the most active and aggressive GM, and it is apparent with our stockpile of draft picks and young players that DA desires to move quantity for quality.
This is going to be an interesting afternoon. What we do today can have huge consequences this summer. The moves we make, and the players we draft may be key to luring in big free agents, or it could open up doors for possible trades.
Let the talks and discussions begin!
Actual picks:
1. Karl Anthony-Towns, Minnesota 2. D'Angelo Russell, Los Angeles (Lakers) 3. Jahlil OKafor, Philadelphia 4. Kristaps Porzingis, New York 5. Mario Hezonja, Orlando 6. Willie Cauley-Stein, Sacramento 7. Emmanuel Mudiay, Denver 8. Stanley Johnson, Detroit 9. Frank Kaminsky, Charlotte 10. Justise Winslow, Miami 11. Myles Turner, Indiana 12. Trey Lyles, Utah 13. Devin Booker, Phoenix 14. Cameron Payne, Oklahoma City 15. Kelly Oubre, Atlanta 16. Terry Rozier, Boston

Most intriguing draft ever. That's how I feel

Certainly.
But I have a weird sense, unlike other drafts we were excited about, that even though we may fail to move up to secure a high pick, I'm still excited about the team we have right now.
So even if we fail in this draft, I'm still onboard for a good 2015-2016 season.

Most intriguing draft ever. That's how I feel It really is a weird one. For a draft with a decent amount of talent, there is a lot of uncertainty. On an unrelated note. I just went and looked at the 2012 draft. I was so high on that draft, as were many others, but so far there is looking like a lot of duds in that draft. We should be happy we got Sully out of that. He's had a better career so far than a lot of guys drafted ahead of him.

Yeah, you're right.
I was high on Thomas Robinson (strangely, I still am), Harrison Barnes (should have realized he was a bit too upright and stiff), Moe Harkless, Andrew Nicholson, and Perry Jones.
Didn't bite on Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Austin Rivers, or Royce White.
Underestimated Damian Lillard.

This is my favorite time of year. KVal is heading over for a two man draft party!
DA stockpiled picks we need to use them, this is why we have them

Think Ainge's hope is to convert these picks into trade bait either for a higher pick, or higher quality players.
Give our greetings to KVal, and tell him to do some posting on here!

I love the draft, especially when the C's aren't in title contention. Draft time always gives me hope for the future (at least since we've had Ainge running the show).

Ainge had some doozies recently, but I think Doc had something to do with it. I bet lot of the players we drafted were tailored to Doc's likings.
I say this because lot of the players we were linked to in free agency are now on the Clippers' roster. And lot of former Celtics draft picks are on their too (Baby, Lester Hudson).

I heard someone say DA has been here 12 years and has drafted one all star player, Rondo. Not a good track record though to his credit a lot of the picks have been mid to late.

Al Jefferson and Rajon Rondo. Not a bad haul considering he's only drafted top 5 once (and that pick was flipped for Ray Allen, a future HOFer).

You could also say he's drafted many non-star players who were big contributors on championship/playoff caliber teams.
Tony Allen Big Baby Perk Jeff Green Avery Bradley Marcus Smart

He's also done a good job of trading young guys when their value was at their peak. People forget that Gerald Green was still an intriguing prospect when they moved him in the KG trade, same as Ryan Gomes. That Ray Allen trade isn't done if we don't include Delonte West.
