What about the crazy things Stephen A. Smith said? He said KG and PP to the Clippers for Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Eric Bledsoe.
There's no way the Clippers managment trade away a stud like Blake Griffin, especially for a couple of players who are close to retirement. I don't care how much clout CP3 has, and he may even threaten to leave via free agency if they don't make this move. I just can't see how this happens.

SAS says some crazy things, though if peeps remember, I think he was the one that first reported James, Bosh to MIA. However, he easily could have been hedging.

He says, this is being talked about among the inner circle.
Maybe it is true, maybe this is being discussed. But I highly, highly, highly doubt the Clippers, no matter how many bad decisions they've made over the years, would trade away Griffin.
BUT, BUT, BUT ...... if it can be pulled off, wow, what a haul that would be for us. A stud, along with 2 other good young pieces, for 2 aging veterans who were moving on from BOS anyways.

I have never heard of a coach being traded - and am not sure it could happen, anyway (would have to check whatever CBA the coaches had with the owners - if any). But if somehow the Clippers would trade Griffin, Bledsoe and Butler for KG and Pierce - I make that trade yesterday.

IMO, more likely would be some trade between Boston and LAC, but not quite as crazy as Stephen A.'s rumored proposal. Maybe something more modest like the earlier trade we heard about at the trade deadline (KG for Bledsoe and Jordan - or something like that).

In fact, here is a crazy trade idea (which works per RealGM - I am assuming in a sign-and-trade scenario), if the KG for Jordan/Bledsoe goes through then trade Rondo for Al Jefferson. You have a stud scoring PF, whose offense really stepped up in the later part of the year, and the defensive shot blocker he needs next to him. Then we have a young, emerging PG and Jeff Green as a tall, athletic scoring 3, and Avery Bradley back at SG.

In what Stepeh A. was stipulating, Doc would replace Vinny Del Negro as head coach.

He's too costly (he made 15 mil this year, and that's too much for what I feel he's worth). And secondly, he's still a lability on defense (and DeAndre Jordan is not good enough defensively to cover up for Big Al's deficiencies).

One issue I have with the trade ideas is I don't think our players are worth anything. I really don't.
Here's the list of players I think is worth something Rondo Sully Melo = 2nd rounder maybe or a backup making too much money Bradley
But this is the thing
Rondo is coming off a torn ACL. He is valuable because he doesn't make that much money, which in a lot of ways is why we should keep him Bradley...totally regressed this year. He's a backup on any team trying to win Sully...back issues. Melo = project making too much money
I think Green makes too much money I think Bass makes too much money Lee is a backup
KG won't play for almost anyone and has maybe a year left at decent money. I just can't see it. Pierce is a backup making 16 mill next year. He has only said he wants to play one more year but could be gone after that Jet is worthless...maybe a contender would give up a late draft pick for him but that's it
The 16th pick has some value
I really don't think you can get that much for these guys. I don't think you can get Jonas V, Terrence Ross, and Kyle Lowry for a combo of this stuff and even if we did....we're the Raptors.
I don't think you can get Lin, Parsons, DMo or Terrence Jones, Royce White, Thomas Robinson, and/or Omer Asik or really any combo thereof for what we have and even if we did....we're the Rockets
If it were me I'd target Dwight Howard. DH and Rondo together with Doc would be unreal and would attract a free agent or we could trade Green/Sully for someone.
A D Howard, Josh Smith, Rondo team would be a very good relevant team for year to come. It would crush the Knicks.
There are only a few elite level possibly championship earning players. We got KG at the right time.
Those guys are/were in no order B Griffin CP3 on a good day Bron D Howard on a good day Duncan in the past KG in the past Durant D Rose on a good day Kyrie in the future on a very good day provided he stays healthy
That's it. Not Derron Williams Not Brook Lopez Not Melo Not Anthony Davis any time soon Not Josh Smith Not Rondo Not Russell Westbrook Not Damian Lilliard any time soon
The other thing I wouldn't mind doing is seeing if we can get a young cheap prospect or two or three that teams are a little down on.
Houston has way too many good young players. I would LOVE if we could get like DMo, Terrence Jones, Thomas Robinson, and Royce White, Patrick Beverly for Sully, the 16th pick and a problem like Bass or Lee and/or Melo.
Terrence Ross or Jeremy Lamb. Kendall Marshall maybe. Maybe Kyle Singler depending on how their draft goes
Maybe Austin Rivers and Al Farouq or something for Bradley
Maybe call the Blazers. They have some guys with evil pword like Meyers, Claver, and Freeland
I wonder if the Cavs would make a mistake and give us Tristan T, Zeller, and Waiters for Sully, Melo, the 16th pick, and ...nah they wouldn't
Also we need to see what we can do with free agency. Wes Johnson is a free agent and was just starting to show something in Phoenix. Maybe a guy like that could be had cheap.

Great post Eja -- I'll have to read it over a few times and digest it all, but you've obviously given it a lot of thought, which deserves a Koolaid point!

Ok I think I have a really good trade but the trade machine is making it hard.
KG and Avery Bradley and possibly filler for
Tiago Splitter, Danny Grenn, draft picks, Nando De Colo, Matt Bonner, and possibly filler like Corey Joseph
why it works for us. Tiago and Danny Green for KG and a backup? Sign me up
why it works for them....KG with Duncan is a lethal two year crew. They can crush the Heat inside. They will get two if not three quality years out of that. They could win one or two championships with that. Bradley is dangled as well making the case that D Wade has nightmares about Bradley.
The money is difficult. KG alone makes 11 mil. But these other guys will probably get raises soon enough as well Bradley. They only get the 28th pick. We're only taking that to keep the money in check.

Wow, the Warriors took the Spurs to double overtime on San Antonio's homecourt (but couldn't finish the game). These young pups are really fantastic.
Ultimately, the Spurs should win this series and end the Warriors magical year.
Maybe getting a proven veteran like Pierce will go a long ways towards advancing further in the playoffs next year.

I think Pierce and KG and Doc have a lot of value around the league to teams that are looking to win in a short window. The clippers could be one of those teams. Blake, Jordan and Bledsoe is a ton though. I would do that in a second.
Pierce is still a starter.
KG is getting bone spurs in his ankle shaved down. Doc is wondering if he will retire. I don't think they will. Mcdonough is gone to Phoenix.
I think a trade will occur this offseason or we will try to bring in another piece to give them a shot here.
Unless Rondo is going to come back fully healthy next year it doesn't seem likely we try to make another run.
If I'm a betting man I'm putting my money on a trade occurirng. Ainge has been shopping around the league for an appropiate deal for the last 3 years to ship these guys out when the time is right.
If a trade does happen it will probably be something big.

I think trades are most likely. The only way we keep this team intact is if we can land another star player who is either equal to Rondo or better.
But we can't afford him.
Its time to move on.
