Lets keep this thread for our trade ideas.
I look forward to reviewing this thread in October to see how many of our ideas were on the mark.

I have a trade idea to propose:
This is just a retread of what we heard being discussed in February. Garnett to the Clippers for DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe.
I believe Chris Paul will re-sign with LA, but he's going to insist on getting better players. Garnett playing Center for them is an immediate upgrade. CP3 is going to love penetrating into the lanes and spotting an open KG in the high post for wide open jumpers. DeAndre can't do that.
LA won't miss Bledsoe so much because after next year, he's going to command more money than they are willing to spend on Paul's backup.
Now, we can use Bledsoe next year because Rondo is still going to be out, recovering from his ACL surgery. And when Rajon returns, one of them becomes expendable, and I'm sure we can receive good value for either one of them.

I can see Pierce going to Houston. They need firepower, whether in the starting 5, or if they want to use Pierce off the bench.
Houston is a playoff caliber team, but won't compete unless they get players better than Francisco Garcia and Patrick Beverly.
Harden and Lin are the top 2 guys, and Pierce can work as the 3rd wheel.
I'd take back Tho as Robinson and see if we can develop that tLent thats oozing inside of him.

I'd do a KG + Fab Melo trade for Bledsoe + Jordan.
I would then turn around and trade Jordan away. The more I watch him play the less I like him. Bledsoe too..I'd acquire them to trade them away. Trade em to teams who can give us high draft picks and younger talent..Talent like Jeremy Lamb or Thomas Robinson.
As for Pierce...Ideally I'd like for him to get traded to the Clips too but his salary would not work with them. So if anything I'd try trade him to perhaps the Spurs who have quite a few talented pieces.
Either way all scenarios look unrealistic at this moment. Too early in the offseason to predict anything.

Houston would be a good fit basketball wise, but i don't think they'd want to waste all their cap room this off-season on Paul Pierce. And they don't really have any contracts they could send back that would keep that cap space available. I'd say the best options are Golden State and New Jersey. They are both playoff teams that have the large, expiring contracts that would make a Pierce trade feasible, and the both seem like situations that Pierce would accept. The Lakers also have the right contracts, but 1) I can see Ainge letting Pierce play for the Lakers 2) The Lakers don't have any draft picks to deal right now.

For KG, it's a bit simpler. I see it as either he stays in Boston, goes to the Clips, or retires. I'd say he balks at any other trade offer, expect the possibility of going to play with Billups in LA. And I'd say the chances of that are slim. But for the future of this franchise, I hope he is game for a trade. We need young pieces to get this rebuild going. But if nothing else, I hope he plays next year. Dude still has some game left, and the league is better off with him in it.

As for Rondo, I've said it in countless other threads, but I'd love to see Danny explore a trade with Orlando that involved swapping picks in this draft and getting Orlando's 2014 pick. It would be a huge gamble, but it could pay off huge dividends as well.

If we do go with a full rebuild, I'd like to see the C's grab some bargain basement vets from the past who value what it means to be a Celtic to be mentors to the young'ns. I'd gladly give a sport or two to the likes of Barbosa, Collins, Dooling, or Peaches. I'd also like see Perk back in a C's jersey down the road.

It would be a huge gamble, but it could pay off huge dividends as well. not a bad scenario. Orlando also has a trade exception of 11million from the Dwight trade. So...technically...we could send Rondo away and not gain anything in return. Big gamble indeed. A higher first rounder and a 1st rounder next year? hmm..yeah you know what? the more i think about it the more i like the trade idea. its a big risk since we esentially give away a star for nothing but it could work in our favor if we draft right. For the Magic its far less risk since this year's draft is weak and next year they could be better and their pick could be lower.

Danny traded Perk, thinking the injuries would keep him from playing at the level he was playing at in BOS.
He was right.
Ainge is not going to bring back perk in the physicL condition he's in.

Along with trades, we have the possibility of losing Pierce and KG (amnesty and retire) and then needing to look for free agents. Here's a list of every unrestricted free agent available this summer. (ETO = Early Termination Option; P = Player Option; T = Team Option) There are restricted free agents but those are usually difficult to lure unless a team has lots of money to offer. I've put some I'm thinking of in bold. I know that Doc has said he'd love to have Barbosa and Collins back so I've highlighted them. I know everyone wants Josh Smith but after seeing how much Hawks fans don't like him and how he wants a max deal, I'm not interested. I don't want Howard. He's not a team player. Neither is Bynum. Nate R has certainly come up big for the Bulls and I always liked Little Nate. My wish list starts with Big Al or Paul Milsap. From there, Tony Allen. And if OKC amnesties Perk, I'd love to have him back. Who's on your wish list?
Devin Harris Dahntay Jones Kyle Korver Zaza Pachulia Johan Petro Josh Smith Anthony Tolliver Andray Blatche Keith Bogans Jerry Stackhouse DeSagana Diop Ben Gordon (P) Josh McRoberts Jannero Pargo Reggie Williams Marco Belinelli Daequan Cook Nazr Mohammed Vladimir Radmanovic Nate Robinson Daniel Gibson Shaun Livingston Marreese Speights (P) Luke Walton Elton Brand Mike James Chris Kaman Shawn Marion (ETO) O.J. Thanks for putting that list up, FL. Haha, you want the old team back again (Tony, Big Al, Perk -- all we need now are Delonte and Gomes, and we're back to 2004!!).
I'll also say NO to Josh Smith. Dwight Howard would have to depend on who else is here (DH cannot be the #1 guy).
Here are the guys off the list I'm interested in:
CP3 Dwight Howard Big Al Kevin Martin (not Kenyon, but Kevin) Daequan Cook Dorrell Wright Nolan Smith Cole Aldrich

I had a dream last night that KG got traded back to minnesota in a 3 team deal that landed us an assortment of players. Not sure who it was. We also traded Green to the Lakers for Pau Gasol.
