Yeah, I see your line of thinking, BC. When Raef is in the game, he makes good judgments and can be a factor at times. But he could help us out a lot more by scoring more.
Meltin, I'd rather just stick with Perkins if the options for us to choose from are Primo Brezec and Lorenzen Wright. I want the next Center we go after to be head over heels better than Perkins and Raef.

i think that raef's contribution is seriously underestimated. it's not always about the numbers. iq. chemistry. look at the contracts of other bigs. foyle jerome james. calvin booth. maurice taylor. mark Blonut. puke... Very true BC. Reaf brings a lot to the team. He's had another off-season to build strength in his weak joints too. Hey BC- Does it burn your finger tips when you type Blount's name? ;D

I think Raef's best days are behind him and that those days weren't that great

probably so indeed but he's still better than most of the centers in the league

I went to espn.com and brought up all the centers alphabetically. I admit he was better than most, but I think he'd be in the middle of the pack at best of NBA starters, and I kinda think Perk is better than him. I really don't like the deemphasis of the center position. It used to be if you were 7 feet tall you were supposed to get like 14ppg and 9 rpg. Now you're lucky to get 6 and 6. Even since Luc Longley the passing center who you can practically forget is in the game has been the norm. I hate that. The center should be one of if not the best player on the team.

Only in the Eastern Conference is the center inferior.

The center used to be the focalpoint of the offense and defense. Hakeem, you name them.

i still dream of pierce for hinrich/chandler trade I was hoping that wed pull the trigger on the portland trade, draft Chris Paul, and use the cap room we had to go after Chandler. I love the idea of a future 4/5 rotation of aljeff, chandler, and perk. Im gonna need a wetnap just thinking about it.

I never wanted Chandler. Why is everyone so high on him? He got plenty of pt and didn't produce great stats.

I never wanted Chandler. Why is everyone so high on him? He got plenty of pt and didn't produce great stats. Age and Potential. Not to mention he's probably one of the best rebounding/Shot Blockers in the league. Yeah, He only average 8 pts 9.7 rebs per game (27 mins) but the dude can flat out play defense. Add around 7-10 mins to that stat line we're talking about automatic double-double every night. His defense sets the tempo of hte game. Thats why Chicago has become a defensive onslaught this year.
