the only thing that held chandler back was his bad back. he ain't never gonna be offensive marvel, but i bet he will win some "best defender" awards

BC, if you like Chandler in that role, you will probably like Josh Boone from UCONN. This kid has been on some of our radars since his rookie season, playing in back of Emeka Okafor. He had a major fall off at the midway point of last year's college season, after having a terrific first half (was pretty close to being a 20 and 12 guy with 2 blocks per game). But his game is very similar to Chandler's, even his body type (except he seems to have a stronger base).

Yeah, I don't know what happened to him. All of a sudden, he played as if he totally forgot what to do. I hope to see a return to form this season, which is his junior year.
Though I like this kid, I do not view him as a stud starting Center/PF. I've viewed him as a super backup. I'd be very happy to draft him, but with the intent to have him be a backup who plays about 20 minutes per game. He's not the dominant force I'm hoping we'll get at C.

Then again, you don't wanna get your hopes up for Greg Oden either. As much as you want your star center, that just might be too unrealistic unless the luck of the chameleon just happens to land at #1 in 07.

What's the Ogden kick John? Man every thread.
If you need to rant about this guy, start a thread on him. Not every thread needs the same context, most of use read them all.

Boone didn't know how to play w/ fouls. He would pick up 2 quick fouls, then play passive the rest of the game.

We have Boone and Ogden now? ;D We, as in WE, do tend to converse like kin rather than a chat room. I like that. Just change subject when the mood hits. Not all bad...

Well, what do you expect me to say for christs sakes? You all talk about your next dominant center well there he is.

Mt Perk is my guy. Big Al can cover in small lineups.

Thats true also but theres always talk in here about someone else being the top future center so I figured I would just keep bringing up Oden. But, if Jefferson is in future plans to be a center, then thoguhts of Oden can be forgotten about easy. It just seems that Jefferson could be sticking to pf though.

In a true small line up Al could play 5, or with a nice sized 4. We just need a guy like Perk to enforce againt teams with solid big 5s. Teams that need to be pounded on.

I think a veteran center is good to go after who is at least a tad more servicable than Raef and with a shorter contract. Lo Wright, Primo Brezec?

i think that raef's contribution is seriously underestimated. it's not always about the numbers. iq. chemistry. look at the contracts of other bigs. foyle jerome james. calvin booth. maurice taylor. mark blount. puke...
