Watching something about people's favorite movies. The middle munchkin from the Lollipop Guild in Wizard of Oz was 18 back then and is 91 now. Also during Over the Rainbow Toto had such horrific breath it made Judy's eyes water

A friend of mine is from Grand Rapids, Minnesota, which is Judy Garland's hometown. Every year a bunch of the munchkins would come back for Garland's birthday. I have no idea if they still do, because they'd have to be getting pretty old.

King's Speech tonight. It was definitely above average. But I can't believe it won Best Pic. A film like this used to just be known as a good movie

To be more clear I mean it's above average for movies of all time. Nowadays it's one of the only good movies, which would put it way way above average. I just think Hollywood doesn't make good movies any more. Hard to say why. I think maybe Titanic just killed it

I thought the actor in King's Speech deserved his Oscar..I can't imagine what its like forcing yourself to stutter an entire script. But the best movie for me last year that was mainstream was Inception..I know I know..overrated some might say but I liked the idea of such a concept..storyline wise it could have been better but hell it was long enough as is..to make it better would mean a 4-5 hour movie.

Eja thought you meant the movie just ok but if you compare with all time great is just like you say above average as for mainstream movie inception yes just way too long i usually stay away from hollywood movie but sometimes the do come up with good movies like social network

It was better than just ok, even by all-time standards. I think it's helped by there being so many horrid films these days that when I go in to see a movie I have really low expectations.
Then there are the times I have really high expectations and the movie is just bad. Avatar for example. I was hearing stuff like "It will change movies". But it was horrid. Maybe 3D will change movies, but the movie itself was horrid. You can't possibly say Avatar will have a bigger effect on movies than Jurrasic Park.

Jurassic Park was something else when it came out. I remember kids coming back to school and they couldn't quit raving about it.

Just finished Sunset Boulevard. I think AFI has it at 11 on its top 100 list. I wouldn't put it that high, but I'd probably have it on the list

I don't remember a time before Avatar where there was this much focus on 3D movies..it seemed only after Avatar came out that more and more movies went the 3D way despite there being 3D movies before in the past. And in a way...I hate it. I can't do 3D..I get motion sickness..

I saw Avatar in 2D. I'm going to have to try to purge it from my memory in order to watch it fresh the way most people did. Beginning purging. Done. That was really easy
