something different to talk about. i'm a huge fan of the electric guitar. just wanted to see if other greeniacs have a love for distorted guitars and power chords.

don't have to limit your options to just heavy metal, grunge, punk or oldies. can be bands like hootie and the blowfish, gin blossoms, del amitri, etc. they also include electric guitars in their musics.
i'll make an admission that i'm not a big fan of jimi hendrix. i'm more of a fan of stevie ray vaughn than i am of jimi.

Yes I do. Youre into punk too huh? I didn't like refused much when I first heard them but I dig them now. They split and became something even greater. The INC.

Sam Black Church is good. Refused's "The Shape of Punk to Come" is one of my all time favs.

The shape of punk to come is awesome. Its the only refused cd I own too.
You should check out OS101 although there long disbanded now.

I wasnt too hot on SDRE when I heard them. Fugazi neither. Repeat offender or whatever that cd was called did not strike me at all.

Helmet is a good band though. Unsung is my favorite song. I liked just another victim with everlast.

Lil C-Style and RBX both released Albums on 1-27. Both are very very solid albums... both produced by the likes of Daz and Soopafly.
But by lookin at all yall posts, somethin tells me you dunno who any of the people just mentioned are...

I like disturbed, 3 doors down, the offspring, weezer and audioslave for rock...but i guess i would say my favorite band is barenaked ladies...

few years ago, although i didn't dress like it or act like it, i was a metal head at heart. bands like Am i Blood and systems of a down where what i enjoyed listening to. i still listen to guys like black sabbath, pantera, metallica, tool, merciful fate, etc, but i have definitely tamed down from before. now, i'm more mellower and enjoy listnening to bands like del amitri, gin blossom, hootie and the blowfish, etc.
i grew up in the 80's, listening to bands like bon jovi, poison, warrant, def leppard, skid row, motley crew, striper, etc (hey, i had an older sister who listened to nothing else but glam rock).
anything with a guitar in it, i'll listen to.

Audioslave and The Offspring are the only decent ones on that list. For you liking Barenaked Ladies the most, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I like all styles my man. It's kinda funny, but my dad is like 55 years old and he loves Outkast!! LOL. BTW, I am a mix. My mom is white and my dad is half black. Its sad but it doesn't surprise me that your dad listens to outkast at 55. Most blacks as it is like their cultures music regardless of age unlike white parents in their 40s and 50s today. |
