Yep, I'm liking what I see from Morrison. What he lacks in foot speed (which isn't as bad as I originally gave him credit for) he makes up in gritty-ness. I see a lot of Dirk Nowitzki in his game. Pretty aggressive with the dribbling and quick to pull up for a jumper off the dribble.

I live in Irving, a suburb of Dallas. Dallas South Oak Cliff won state 5A Championship. Team had 2 6'9" kids. One is a senior and is headed to Oklahoma State. Other is a junior, adn appears to be the one who put on the most impressive performance ikn championship game, which SOC won by 20 or so points. Dallas paper says he will be the top-ranked HS player in the nation when next year opens. Name is Arthur (last)

I checked out Draftcity's top 20 HS list and I couldn't find any mention of a guy with the last name Arthur. If he is a good looking prospect, I'm sure his name will start popping up soon. Thanks for keeping us in the loop with the Texas HS'ers. They usually produce some good players.

I probably won't be much help. I dn't pay attention to anything outside of the Dallas area and its newspaper, which I don't read but a couple of times a week.

Antoine Wright is I guess a swingman for Texas A&M. He is a junior who prepped in Mass. Dallas paper is talking about him possibly being a middle to lower first-rounder.
A&M plays in the Big 12, and did not win a game last year. New coach---team made the NIT after winning I believe 8 games in the Big 12. 13 game turnaround, biggest in college hoops this year.
I didn't pay much attention to the team early on, because th ey were playing creampuffs. New coach taking over wanted to instill some confidence and be able to get to know his players.
But Wright made first-team Big 12, which surprised me.
I'm guessing that this is kind of hype. ' A&M also has a freshman 5---6'9" kid---whois palying strong. Got honorable mention Big 12.

That's one regret I have about this season--not being able to scout Antoine Wright. He and Alabama's Kennedy Winston were wing players I wanted to watch this season. I did get to see Winston and I'm wasn't blown away from what I saw (pretty nice, smooth player with nice shooting touch and slashing skills), but I read some good things about Wright and I wanted to see him.

A&M won their second NIT game, so they'll put on another opportunity, but it probably won't be telecast.
So I guess that means that you think he may be pretty good?

We've been positive about DAs drafting. But Dallas didn't do too badly either last year. Got John Howard low in the first round, and Marquis Daniels in the second. Both are solid.

Couple mistakes in your post there, Ferbo. The kid's name is Josh Howard and Marquis Daniels wasn't even drafted. But you're right--Dallas did very well in that draft. I won't comment on Antoine Wright until I get to see him. I've read some good things about him, but that's all I know about him at this point.

Daniels wasn't drafted? Wow.

Daniels wasn't drafted? Wow. Yeah, he was picked up by the Mavs as an "undrafted free agent", much like how we grabbed Jr Bremer back in '03. Dallas really lucked out with Marquis.

I like Daniesl better than Bremer!!! That, my friend, is an understatement. I didn't care for Bremer much. So unathletic and very limited as a ball handler.

Don't know if folks noticed that Don Nelson has stepped down as coach of the Mavs. Johnson in.
