Dallas paper has mentioned in a couple of stories recently a kid named Gerald Green, a senior at Houston Gulf Shore Academy (best I can tell, it is something of a copy of Mouth of Wilson's Oak Hill without that much academic emphasis. Says he is the top HS prospect in the nation, according to some, and a potential lottery pick. He says he is going to Oklahoma State. I read a little about Green too. Sounds like he could be a good player. 6'8'' right? The name sure fits . I'm definately gonna follow him at Ohklahoma State.

I went to the PC- St John's game last night and well not much to write aobut. St John's just plain sucks. at this point nobody at all to really worry about.
PC- Gomes had a pretty good game but didn't do anything that stood out he just went out and scored 26 or something. It was akin to watching Rip Hamilton at uconn. he didn't look like he did much until the end of the game you realized he had 25. weird. In person, gomes looks pretty slow . . .
For Derren- Magrath- pluses- he can shoot, he has good size, and decent ball handling skills. minues- NO COURT VISION at all. He missed open guys all over the court. he does not look up when being the ball up court missing 3-4 wide, and i mean WIDE open guys. he doesn't seem to do much other then knock down some shots. sorry D.

No problem, Howl ;D I just thought I saw early glimpses of Jayson Williams in him. He's not on my wish list anyways.
Just in case any of you are interested, my PG wish list currently looks like this
(not in any particular order)
Raymond Felton Chris Paul Jarret Jack Dee Brown Marcus Williams Jordan Farmar
....... and maybe a few more I'm missing off the top of my head.
I'm really taking a liking to Jordan Farmar. I catch a lot of Bruins games and this frosh is definitely a guy to watch. Plays a lot like Delonte West and I like those kind of players.

No worries derren ;D
I do love Marcus Williams. foot speed is the only question with him. he has a quick first step and a KILLER crossover so he maybe able to get away with a lack of speed. but the kid can pass the ball. it is beautiful to watch him. he even uses the bounce pass, nobody does that anymore.
somebody on another board (I think) speculated that this summer we may try and package our pick and Perkins to move up into the lottery. their assumption is the c's won't be able to move lafrentz or blount so perk may get moved. now i don't know if I a) like this or b) it is even a reasonable assumption.
but if we could do it and add Felton or Charlie V, it would be worth it.
but we may need to think lower in the draft, especially with Wyc G suggesting we could win a championship this year, he said it not me.

i don't see anybody trading away a young center with lots of upside. just not a reasonable thing to do.

Also, w/ Williams, most people forget he sat out all of the second half last year so basically he is a freshmen (but in actuality a soph). I think this is one of the reasons his game improved alot in the second half of the season.

Marcus Williams is one of the best college PG's at finding guys under the basket. Not only that, but he's got this uncanny ability to confuse defenders--they freeze up, not knowing if he's going to take the shot or pass the ball.
I'm all for drafting Marcus Williams if Ainge is still looking for a PG in this draft. With the way both Delonte and Banks have been playing lately, Ainge may be swayed not to go with a Point.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this name before, but I came across his name at another site (Real GM)-
Monta Ellis who is a 6'3" high schooler from Mississippi that some are calling the "next big thing". According to the source, we've been watching him for years and supposedly he's already been evaluated by the "brain doctor", and rates similarly to Michael Jordan. I guess this kid dropped 72 pts. in a game recently and had 49 against national powerhouse Oak Hill Academy.
Intriguing. Check into it Derren and see what you can find.

I won't say anything about Donta Ellis until I get a chance to see him play. But from that link you provided, he does sound intriguing.

derren- Say we feel set at the point. what is our next biggest need? i guess it depends on what happens with Walker. say he come back. what then?
the only position that is a true need based on vet/youth mix would be sf. I don't even know who the best realistic SF would be. I am thinking we would be drafting 15-20 at this point.
thinking . . .
I would like us to draft with our first rounder the best available Euro player on the board and let him play over seasons for a few seasons. (or grab a high schooler and tash him at the end of the roster)
as for the sf. i would love to grab Jawad Williams- big athletic player on a great team so he doesn't get a ton of pub. but he could be the big sf we need. the big knock is he plays with a lack of fire. he doesn't dominate when he should.
So derren- what's your take on jawad, and other potential sf.

Question (Howl): So derren- what's your take on jawad, and other potential sf
Well, first of all, you are right. If we bring Walker back, we are pretty much covered at every spot. Delonte has seemed to grasp the speed of playing the Point in the NBA and should be able to start from next year. He's not a finished product by any means, but with our team, if Lefty starts to falter, we have the guys who can help him out.
As for Jawad Williams, he's a nice pick to go for because he's a safe pick. This guy reminds me of Cliff Robinson in the way he plays and what he can bring to the team. There's a lot he can contribute to, but he doesn't stand out in any 1 aspect of the game. He can shoot the three, rebound, hit close up shots, block shots, run the floor, cook, clean, mop the floors, and bake peach cobbler pies.
Ainge will most likely use the first rounder to go with the best player available and so even if we are loaded at the wings with very good players, he might pull the trigger on another one.
