People underrate Dirk. Here is a wing player/big that singlehandedly lead his team to the finals.

If we end up with Durant and stick with our OG lineup, I'd like to see Durant at the 4 and Al Jeff at the 5. If we are going to be a running team, that would be one hell of a lineup. And even if we still play more of a half-court game, Have those three on the court will be ridiculous. THere would be three guys on the court that can command a double team.
If we end up with Durant, I dont think a trade for Gasol would be neccesary. I'd rather see us go after someone how was more defense and rebounding orientated. With Gasol we'd have yet another guy that wants the ball.

If we get Oden, I'd love to see us swing a trade of Ratliff's contrtact and some youngns for Mike Bibby. He's can shoot from outside, has tons of exxperience, and his contract runs out in three seasons, just in time to resign Rondo if he is worthy of a long-term commitment. Bibby is a short term fix. He's getting old and doesn't look like the player he was a few years ago. I think Bibby is a product of playing in a system that suits his strengths--I don't know if he'll replicate his numbers playing outside of the Princeton offense.

The problem with that Fresh is how many teams win with that kind of style? The Suns havent won anything. The teams that win have a dominant frontline usually that can defend. Unless you are Jordan. And those bulls teams had some very good defensive players. Jefferson, Durant, Pierce doesn't strike fear in anyone defensively. I still say having a dominant 7 footer is the best matchup problem you can have offensively and defensively.

I admit Dirk is awesome. So are some other people. Like Amare and Shawn Marion. Some of these guys are nearly autochampion level NOW, but on the NITE THEY WERE DRAFTED nobody had any idea how good the 19 German would be. Or a lot of other people. Since we will be drafting we;ll have to make the decision right then and getting it wrong will be really bad

For spurts in the game, playing Durant at PF would work. But he doesn't have the body to play PF for long periods of time.

I think Durant COULD play pf. But when a guy can ball handle, shoot, and pass like Durant they'd probably put him at wing even if he were 7 foot 6. He needs to gain a good 7 pounds no matter what. He could put on 35 even, it's just that I don't want him to slow down even a little bit

Oden is such a dominant force offensively and defensively. He changes the whole complexion of the game having a player like that. I don't see how you can pass that up. Watching the Heat the past few games and watching Shaq has opened my eyes to a lot of stuff. That heat team is so good when Shaq is in the lineup and on his game. I want a team like that.

noone is going to beat the Heat with Shaq if Wade comes back. Unless the spurs and Duncan come alive. The Suns aren't going to do it. Miami made Detroit look like idiots without Ben Wallace. The Bulls could challenge. Dallas will be there. It's going to come down to the Bulls, Dallas, Miami and SA and those are all teams that are good defensively and have beef in the middle.

We do ahve Perk and Jefferson and the makings of a decent front line. Getting Durant wouldn't be so bad, but there is no way we win playing Durant at PF all the time. We'd need to be like Dallas and play Durant like Dirk and use Perk and Jefferson as well like Dallas uses DAmpier and Diop. The thing is Dallas still hasn't won anything doing that.
Pierce, Jefferson, Gasol makes sense. Durant, jefferson, GAsol makes sense. With Perk mixed in. Or Oden. I still think Oden trumps all those lineups because he is the best big man out of the bunch.

So the question starts to be which team would stand a better chance of winning the championship
Dirk and Elton Brand or
Shaq and Brand
Hmmmmm.. .... maybe Chief is right. It might depend on what matches up against them cause MJ, Scottie, and Rodman could beat that. So could Chief, McHale, and Bird. So could Kareem, Magic, and Worthy

I know people might think I'm nuts but if we don't end up with the #1 I would do whatever I could to get Oden. Even trade Jefferson. i'm not saying I would do that or it would be my first option but getting Oden would be huge. Ohio State is ranked #1 in the country for a reason. Whoever gets that guy is going to be a dominant team for the next decade and a half. I'm not saying we can't compete with that by getting Gasol or someone to go with Jefferson, but Oden is that good. We were able to compete with and beat Wilt and KAreem by putting a solid group of players together and it can happen again. We did have Bird, Mchale and Parish though and Bill Russell.

i don't think you're nuts for tading Jeff for Oden or even Jeff and something else, but Jeff and something good like GG or Rondo and I'd have to say you're nuts. Mad man

Would Green or Rondo really be a deal breaker? Having a chance to build around Oden would be pretty cool. The thing is I think whoever ends up with that pick if they trade it are a little loopy.

Well maybe I'd trade Al J, GG, and Rondo for Oden, but not Durant too. And I doubt anyone would want us to have both those guys. Although I'd love to
