You have to ask yourself, "would anyone else want to hire this guy" and if the answer is "probably not", you should probably let him go. How much more do I need to see? Are you telling me Doc will suddenly be a good coach? I know I know. He's young with lots of potential. it would be a shame to see him do well with another team. It's a chance we'll just have to take.

Doc is not a good coach. He doesn't know how to coach defense. He makes things too difficult for the young players with trying to call too many plays and install too many defensive schemes and yet hasn't in 3 years taught the team to defend the pick and roll. I was all for giving Doc a chance until he made that rediculous statement last year about how they learn defense while practicing offense. Defense is what wins games and championships and I don't have any use for a coach who doesn't put a premium on it.
Along with Doc's defensive deficiencies, his rotations have been terrible, he doesn't have a clue about matchups and constantly keeps players out of the game who can obviously play.
I think Doc needs to go asap. The Magic got off to an 0-11 start in his 3rd year there when they fired him. The Heat started off slow and then Riley took over and they won the championship. A coach can make a big difference. We need a coach that won't micromanage and who will just let the kids play and I guarantee we will be a much better team.
Also, in spite of paying lip service to the running game, he doesn't have a clue how to run one. He has the bigs take the ball out instead of the nearest player. He lets the PGs (and everyone else who wants to ) dribble the ball up the court and dribble around. A true running game uses the dribble as little as possible. A true running game always has a rebounder in because you can't run without the ball...

It's paining me to listen to Mike Gorman and Tommy be optimistic and polite but hear Cousy be like "what the heck are they doing? This isn't basketball".
hey the year they went 0-11 did they end up with D Howard, cause seriously, give me some of that.

If this team doesn't turn it around quickly I think Doc needs to go. He's been a decent guy to teach our young players and make them earn their time, but I think the C's are going to get to a point where they really need someone who is going to win basketball games. I've seen enough of Doc at this point, but would be willing to give him a few more games.

Give him untill the all-star break, then bring in a past Celtic... I wouldn't mind seeing DJ, Satch Sander (for his second term) or KC Jones to end out the season. Hell, Tommy might be better. (As we talked CF...)

Satch Sander (for his second term) I dunno about Satch. He did a pretty miserable job the first time he coached. Red talks about him in his book, saying that he doesnt have the right attitude to be a coach.

I wouldn't mind Tommy as coach at all. And Cousy as an assistant coach, because they actually know how to play bball.

Doc needs to go.
This team needs a new face and a coach who preaches defense and winning.

I know everyone is going to think im crazy but how about hiring Larry Brown as head coach. He is a proven winner and if you ask anyone in the league they will tell you he is the best coach out there. I know he was a cancer with the Knicks and doesn't develop young players but they need a real coach that will teach defense to these guys. I can tell you that if he was coach Delonte would be out there getting some serious minutes as well as Rondo and Al Jefferson. I would fire Doc after about 25 games have Tony Brown finish the season as head coach get a high draft pick and hopefully land Oden and hire Larry Brown to coach this team next year.

My only issue with Larry Brown is that he only stays in one place 3-4 years, gets paid thru the nose, belittles your players and organization, and then leaves and acts like the victim. He was having public arguments with Starbury last year (almost as pointless as an argument with TO or a 3 year old) and he said "I never left a place in worse shape than I found it". Well he left the Knicks in worse shape. If Isaih can get more out of the Knicks this year than Larry last year I may have to shift how I feel about both of them somewhat.
I'd rather have Larry Legend.

He's is the most qualified coach available. His track record is pretty tight. But he likes his veterans, and we are all about the youth and the future. Is this a perfect match? Plus, he's not known to be fond of a lot of offense (he relies on ball control), and that goes against Danny's philosophy.
What about Coach K?

Coach K is married to Duke. I'm a lot of things but I'm not a homewrecker. They aren't over each other yet.
