Newest from Draft Express www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1374The Celtics are widely expected by many to trade down in the draft on Wednesday and attempt to pick up the player they want as well as another asset. Numerous trade rumors have them moving down to the 13-20 range in the draft, with Cedric Simmons and Rajon Rondo being two names they supposedly have their eye on. Also they give a run down on this morning's workout.

From Chad Ford's Insider Blog- Chad is saying that Ainge and a Sixers source are denying the trade talks now that they are all over the radio and internet and newspapers. I don't put much stock in what Danny says as he denied he was going to trade Walker a few days before he was sent to Dallas and he denied that a trade was in the works right up until the Minny trade was announced last year. The teams are denying it but the Philly paper said that the Sixers confirmed it this morning. insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=ford_chad#20060626

Whoa whoa whoa!!! Where are all these trades coming from?!!! I'm falling off my seat here (my co-workers are giving me strange looks).
So one scenario is that we don't get Iverson, but we move Wally for Samuel Dalembert. I like this one, even though I'm a fan of Wally. Dalembert is one of the league's best shot blockers. Plus, he's a good alley oop option because of how long and athletic he is.
Giving away Wally means we are opening up some room for Green to get playing time. Initially, Tony Allen would be the starter, but Green should be able to get a good amount of minutes. Good move for our future.
Keep us updated, FL12!!!

No, Duhon is not the true playmaker we covet. He is a solid backup PG. If Ainge does this, he's looking to pick up someone he's sure will be available at 16. So no Marcus Williams, no Randy Foye, no Shelden Williams, no Cedric Simmons. But maybe Rajon Rondo, maybe Saer Sene, maybe Jordan Farmar, maybe Daniel Gibson, maybe Sergio Rodriguez.
Wow, gotta love all this rumor talk ;D

Duhon is not worth the 7th pick. I don't think the market would bear that out and I think DA knows that. The only thing he gets for that is a decent pg and still gets to make another pick, but those are just depth picks and do not really help the team. I don't think historically the #7 is worth a backup pg and backup something esle at #16.

Ainge is probably not making this trade to specifically get Duhon. He probably is looking to move down the draft (around mid 1st) and it so happens that CHI has the 16th and they could also include a backup PG of Duhon's caliber.
Ainge probably has a guy in mind he wants to draft who will be in the mid 1st round.

I would think he should get another pick to trade down, not a player, unless he thinks Duhon is better than anything he can select, which I don't think is the case. With a high 2nd he could get Gibson or Blalock, or maybe even Lowry. Plus he could get a 1rst next year.

Duhon is not that bad actually. He's a solid PG. Makes good decisions. Not flashy, but can do many things on the court. I certainly wouldn't mind getting Duhon as our backup. He's already a better backup than Orien Greene and that helps us out right off the bat.

Fair enough. I would just rather have a younger and cheaper version of Duhon and think we could get more for the #7 pick. I would at least hope they would wait to see who the top 6 picks are first. I mena with the #7 you could get a guy once talked about as #1. The only player in this draft talked about as a top 4 pick who has not fluctuated from that at all is Morrison which makes me think maybe he's the best guy in the draft no matter what.

But with the 16th, you could just as likely pickup up a player you could at 7.

on possibly trading Wally: I wouldn't make a decision which assumes Allen in the 2 mix. Until his legal problems are over, hard to figure.
