Dang Bryant on a vet min deal would be great. He'd be a great depth big.

Dang Bryant on a vet min deal would be great. He'd be a great depth big. Might need him now, now that Theis was shipped out. I'm ok with Bryant. Liked him since his Hoosier days. Solid granite body who moves well and tangles up with others (but not a dirty player). Ok rebounder. Not much offensively.

I'm just thinking out loud here. Brogdon and Smart are somewhat redundant (both are big PG's who are not explosive or very athletic).
Both are getting paid a good chunk of change.
Both are starting caliber and should get starter minutes.
I don't think either will be happy to go to the bench.
Should Smart be worried?

What about Pritch? Should he be worried? Suddenly the guard rotation is looking crowded.

"the Boston Herald’s Mark Murphy is reporting that at least for the present, the Celtics have no plans of making use of the TPE, likely given that the team would not want to pay one of the largest tax bills in the league in the very first season that the club expects to contend in recent history. That doesn’t mean Boston is done making moves around the margins with five roster slots currently unoccupied.
Murphy relates that the team is still looking to add a backup big man, which might be tied to the news from earlier in the day that center Thomas Bryant might be choosing between Boston and the Los Angeles Lakers."

What about Pritch? Should he be worried? Suddenly the guard rotation is looking crowded. Pritch is on his rookie contract, so he's not hurting us salary wise. He just might not play much. But I bet Ime and Brad like him because he's tough and can hit threes.

The more I think about it, it just seems like Smart's time is almost up here.
He's been tweeting that his first year as the team's starting PG and we reach the Finals (IT, Kyrie, Kemba didn't do it).
And then Brad trades for a guy who is a better PG than him, who is also a better, more efficient shooter and scorer.
Something's gotta give.

Maybe it's nothing that Smart's name is not mentioned.

The opportunity is there for Hauser. We really need shooters. If he's knocking them down, he'll get playing time.

All that's left is a backup Big to go get (Gallinari is a big SF).
After that, I think we're set.

Ok, I guess this is the plan for now -- Brog off the bench.

And let's all remember, it's not who starts, it's who finishes.
Smart has been a little obnoxious with his tweets about how the team made the Finals in his first year as starting PG and it never made it with IT, Kyrie or Kemba - as if that was the only change. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the growth of JB, JT and Rob, the arrival of Ime, and big playoff performances from Grant, White and Al. Rubbed me the wrong way.
Guards: Smart, Brogdon, White, Pritch, Davison Wings: Brown, Tatum, Hauser PFs: Al, Grant, Gallinari Centers: Rob, Kornet
Still a couple of spots left to fill. Probably another big man and another wing
