I think it's just kinda obvious. You need a wing to be like 70% of what Nesmith was going to be by now. I would loooovvee Pat Connaughton or Kyle Anderson on an MLE, but somebody will probably give them $80million. We also need a big that isn't such a tremendous drop off when Rob Will is out. We need a new version of PJ Brown. Apparently Luke Kornet and Theis aren't that guy. I wonder if Cody Zeller or Willy Cauley Stein could be had very cheap and I wonder if they'd be any better.

You got me there, E.
In a one possession game, I want Smart in there guarding the ball handler and squeezing the life out of him.

Connaughton would be good as Nesmith's replacement.
I thought about Slo Mo Anderson, but the guy has gotten even slower as he aged (and I want to see us get quicker and more athletic).

Smart would look much better if his teammates moved around. He showed he can creatively pass the ball.

Fresh off of an embarrassing loss and Finals elimination, what does Brad need to do this summer?

Bradley Beal's name will start surfacing soon. We need scoring, and he's a professional scorer.
He's 6'4" and not a natural PG. Too short to play the 2. Don't know if he's a good fit.
But as a close buddy of Tatum, he can push JT like an older brother.

We need a floor general (even a backup PG), more shooting, and another big man who is mobile enough to play in our switching defense.
That said, the difference in this series was the benches. As great as Curry was, our starters for the most part held their own. Look at the box score plus/minus and it's a glaring how bad our bench was.

From Chris Mannix on si.com
“We're all going to grind away in the summer,” Udoka said. “Improve in certain ways. I think the biggest part for us is the IQ section. That's where we saw a huge difference in consistency with us and Golden State, just the little things that experience only can teach you. For us, that's the message.”
The roster will likely return largely intact ... The bench needs help—the Celtics got five points from the second unit in Game 6—but Brad Stevens will have a $6.4 million midlevel exception and three healthy trade exceptions to play with. Internally, they are high on sharpshooting wing Sam Hauser."
I'm glad to hear Ime calling out the "IQ section". Couldn't agree more.
Also glad to hear that the team is high on Hauser. I hadn't really heard anything like that before. We can see he can shoot, so I always wondered if the problem was D. But if they're high on him they must feel he can get there on D.
Can't wait to see how Brad uses the exceptions.

Defense is what gets you into a playoff rotation. Every year we see guys that were big parts of a team's regular season success fall out of the rotation because of how amplified the defense is in the playoffs.

Thanks for posting that JMost.
Gotta agree totally with Ime, we need to boost our IQ (either by bringing in smart players or current players watching ton of film).
I'm big on Hauser too.
Bench depth HAS to be addressed this summer.

We were 2 games away from winning it all, and 5 minutes away from going up 3-1 in the series.
We're on the cusp with a legit shot to be champs in 2023.
Brad must get it done. Horford's clock is ticking and we know how important he is to our gameplan.
How is Brad going to strengthen our bench that let us down in the Finals? A bench that could not give our starters much of a breather.

Depth. Stevens cashed in the depth at the trade deadline. Need 1-2 players that make the rotation. Wing & PG.
