Now it's on us to adjust.
Hey, we took one on the road so we stole homecourt advantage from them.

From 6 down to 23 down in the last 4:30 of the third quarter, and that was it. Once this one got away there was no getting it back.
The 2021-22 Celtics continue to be the ultimate Jeckyl and Hyde team, but so far we've bounced back from every loss with a win.

And we haven't lost 2 games in a row for montjs now, and I hope they don't break the streak now.

JMost, tou maintained that Jaylen Brown, not Jayson Tatum, is the player with the higher ceiling.
Whether he does or not, right now he's showing that he's more alpha than JT.
JB is being aggressive and playing angry. And he's taking it right at Draymond, waving off his teammate's screen so that he can go one on one against Dray.
And while JT is letting Dray rag doll him, JB is fighting back.
I hope Jaylen's mean streak rubs off on Tatum.

Yeah, JB plays with more fire than JT - at least outwardly. JB spends too much time whining about calls instead of channeling that energy into constructive anger.
I meant JT, not JB.

I really hope this is how JB will play from now on. He plays passively more often than I like -- but the way he's playing now boosts him to another level.

It's cool to see Pierce being the biggest cheerleader on our home court in the NBA finals. Doesn't seem that long ago he was the one playing in that very same game.
I love when JB is playing well - I think what hampers him a lot is that he seems like a really smart guy off-the-court - but, not so much on the court. He's improved immensely in that regard but I still catch him getting lost on defensive assignments when they go back on defense and, obviously, he has his moments of driving into no where on offense.
Granted, I don't think we'll see another guy improve as much as him with regards to his offensive tools, playmaking, and dribbling. I love that his default/go-to seem to revolve around some wonderful moves in the midrange compared to Tatum who seems to love the step back 3.

Technically it's not, but I say that Game 5 is a must win. If we lose and go down 3-2, that's a mountain of pressure on our back, and Curry will smell blood and go for the kill.

It'd be great to see a Tatum 40-pointer at some point. I know he's always been inconsistent, but it seems since the initial shoulder injury he's been consistently shooting poorly. That worries me a bit, though us being tied 2-2 despite that is great. It's a fun series. I like playing a team I generally like/respect.

Exactly, JT! We are too stagnant, stationary. Guys got to cut, screen for backdoors -- we become too predictable.

I have a crazy theory next game only play Rob Williams 5 minutes in the first half and then play him a good deal in the 3rd and 4th. Basically a late game quarter has to be more like the first quarter for us. We're typically a good first quarter team. Other quarters are far more dicey.

I think short stints work, like 3-4 minute increments at a time. All it takes is one time for him to jump or land awkwardly and he's done for the game.

I don't think we need to overthink this. We were up 5, with the ball, with 7:30 left in the game. All we need to do is execute better down the stretch, ie do the same things that got us to that point. For some reason, late in games we get stagnant, neither the players nor the ball moves, and we wind up shooting 3s over and over. Someone, and it doesn't matter who it is, has to remind the guys to keep playing the right way, the way they've shown they know how to.

Ime said we went hunting for mismatches too much. And when we did that, guys stood around on the perimeter. You are right -- just need guys to be in motion and look for creases and seams and make smart passes. And when the ball touches the paint and the defense collapses, then kick it out. I don't mind wide open 3's.

That's right, Ime. If we score, we're winning this thing.
