We need to do whatever we can to pickup either Andre Miller or Brevin Knight (within reason), with picks, LaFrentz, Kandi, Allen as bait.
Miller's bigger and stronger than Brevin, better scorer, better defender. Knight is cheaper, and just as good if not better at setting up teammates for easy shots. Either one will do.
Everyone seems to underestimate Gary Payton, and what he meant for us last year. He made it easier for everyone else. I LOVE Delonte for what he brings to the table, but he does not create for himself or others.
If we had a TRUE point guard, we would be a .500 team no question, probably better. I am blaming absolutely nothing on Delonte. He shows more hustle and spirit than probably anyone on our whole team. But he has his limitations. I love him for this team, and hope he stays here his entire career, but maybe as a tweener guard playing both the one and two and playing on both first and second units.
We need a point guard who will make it easy for Pierce and Wally to get their shots. If Paul is scoring 30 a night, that means we're losing. The scoring needs to be spread out . Paul - 25ppg, Wally 19ppg, Delonte 14ppg etc.
A true point guard will let this happen.

I like LaFrentz and Scalabrine to the Bricks for Penny Hardaway for the sake of a pure salary dump. Use that money to keep Pierce around for three more years.

Three trades will happen: 1. Blount for Kandi 2. Banks to the Fakers for Luke Walton 3. RD and Raef for Scott Pollard and Austin Croshere. C - Perkins, Pollard PF - Jefferson, Croshere, Scalabrine SF - Pierce, Walton, Gomes SG - Allen, Reed PG - West, Orien Green We will still need a center through the draft or midlevel. But we will be in good shape salary wise to keep this team together for a long time and I think we will get our money's worth with this crew. Blount for Kandi happened. I got RD and Banks outta here correct, trouble is I did not expect Sczerbiak to walk through the door. We don't really have anybody left to trade unless we want to permanently set back this franchise.

We don't really have anybody left to trade unless we want to permanently set back this franchise. I think we could easily trade Scal, Raef, or Dickau and not set us back much at all depending on who we get back in return. We could use another PF/C and a PG and some scoring off the bench.

Scal and Dickau are relatively cheap and can be moved as fillers or straight up for cheap veteran role players. Raef makes 10 million dollars and has 4 years left on his contract. And unless he has friends in high places that will welcome him with open arms and accept his shortcomings, this guy cannot be moved without young talent we must hang onto....... We lost Banks, RD and Justin Reed to get rid of Blount...... What would we lose to get rid of LaFrentz? I think we need to keep LaFrentz and milk as much productivity as we can get out of him at PF/C spots. He needs to work at improving himself and commit to upper strength improvement in the offseason.

Danny was talking on WEEI about having pics stocked up to be able to package with players to be able to move them. I was thinking at the time that it was Raef's contract that he was talking about moving but he never said anything specific so you never know.

Raef is one of the worst #3 picks in history. Carter, Pierce, and Nowitski passed over? If this guy had any dignity, he would retire.

Didn't he average 16pts 7 rebs 2-3 blks a game his rookie season? Last time I check that isn't bust material there. If anything he has the worst contract in the NBA as far as production to pay ratio goes.
BUT, Lafrentz can still contribute as a player as long as the offense gives him good looks and look for him in transition. He's a good center to have on the team. It's his contract that no one likes about him.

Rasef would be a fan favorite if it wasnt for his contract. Fans always like back-up big dudes that shoot 3s. I know I had a bad case of Sam Perkins Mania in the late 90s.

I don't mind Raef's contract so much because Wyc has said that the owners don't mind paying the luxury tax if necessary so we can go over the cap and in that case, Raef's contract doesn't become as big a deal. He has been contributing and can be a good role player for this team if Danny doesn't move him for a younger player. I worry more about his knees than his contract. We did get the pick that became Delonte by taking on his contract and that is a good thing. As long as Raef continues to work as hard as he does and as long as his knees hold up, he can help this team.

Q, I will tell you truth...Raef had an "all-star" week, and literally cost me '2' points in the 2nd annual CelticsGreen Fantasy league.

Toronto Trade Breakdown Outgoing Loren Woods 7-2 from Arizona No games yet played in 2005/06 Eric Williams 6-8 from Providence No games yet played in 2005/06 Incoming Dan Dickau 6-0 from Gonzaga No games yet played in 2005/06 Brian Scalabrine 6-9 from USC No games yet played in 2005/06 Change in team outlook: 0.0 ppg, 0.0 rpg, and 0.0 apg.
Boston Trade Breakdown Outgoing Dan Dickau 6-0 from Gonzaga No games yet played in 2005/06 Brian Scalabrine 6-9 from USC No games yet played in 2005/06 Incoming Loren Woods 7-2 from Arizona No games yet played in 2005/06 Eric Williams 6-8 from Providence No games yet played in 2005/06 Change in team outlook: 0.0 ppg, 0.0 rpg, and 0.0 apg.
Successful Scenario Due to Toronto and Boston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Toronto and Boston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Bringing back Eric Williams as an elder statesman for the Celtics would be a good thing. We add another Center in the last year of his contract and get an additional 2 million dollar salary dump.
Use Eric Williams in Scalabrine's spot (We don't want Scrubbabrine for 4 more years do we?). E-Will makes more money than Scal this year and next but we get a healthy dump after '07 (Finally Baker's cap burden wears off at long last!).
Give Loren Woods a look at Backup Center instead of Olowakandi. (In fact hand Olowakandi his severance check and wish him well).
